Are you stuck with Commander Hongran with Ushan’s fallen wings? The first wall most players face with Wuchan’s fallen wings is the infamous Commander Hong Ran. He challenges you at Lotus Pond at the Tang Palace Complex, representing the spikes of great difficulty. Honran has a tricky boss before him, but the commander first demanded accurate mastery of the game’s mechanics.
I’m by no means a truly skilled soul lover, but I’m not too bad either. Nevertheless, it took about two hours to defeat Commander Hongran for the first time. New players could face a similar stop. In this guide, we’ll jump in How to defeat Commander Hongran with Wuchan’s Fallen Featherrevealing the best tactics that have worked for me, including a complete list of my equipment.

How to defeat Commander Hongran with Wuchan’s Fallen Feather
To defeat Commander Honglan, I used a Level 27 Magic Build that did not involve direct attacking her. Instead, I learned consistently Dodge her blow and burn it with a long range spellsome may consider spam and cheap wins. (I say – it’s all fair in something like souls, especially something that really dramatically strengthens difficulties with bosses like this!)
Equip one-handed sword
If you want to follow in my footsteps, equip one-handed sword that Skyborn may passively generate Bidding time skill. Astral Blade In this scenario, the spell’s damage is increased, so it’s my favorite one-handed sword, but it can also be used. Dark Frost edgeAs long as you spend the power of Skyborn, it boasts a very useful weapon skill called Evasive Maneuver, which offers a 5-second auto-dodge buff.
Skyborn’s brilliance and construction momentum
With one hand sword in hand, you must practice using a shimmer (aka dodge) in all of the attacks of Honran. This is easier than you say, and you should As soon as the battle begins, prepare to sparklebecause she will dash at you with a charge from Gettogo.
Honglan’s attacks all hit hard, fast, and She usually delivers three or more attacks in succession. The margins of errors are small to avoid them, so this fight will have some practice until you learn her move set. That being said, all this evacuation consistently generates Skyborne forces, and when combined with biding time, the Skyborne are free to stack in most cases.
Finally, Once Hongran retreats to give you a short breath, unleash a reliable spell for damage. The safest time to do this is when she stomps her foot and raises the stairs and you’re out of range, or when she’s busy circling you. Wash it off and repeat until Hongran dies. She switches offenses later in the fight, and gets even faster as she throws a dagger at you to reduce the waves of air, but if you continue to practice your sparkle, you can dodge everything.
Use burning flames or hell flames
In my playthrough, the spell that worked best against Honran was Burning flame (Getted by defeating Solo Bird-Masked Foe in Doomwillow Beach), thanks to its reliable damage and the fact that it retreates Wuchang, this is useful for fights that require constant evasion.
If there is no burning flame, Hell’s flame (You get by defeating fire-spraying enemies in the courtyard of a village near Shu Sanctum) also works, but it can be a little more still and open to attack.
Equipped with the appropriate propulsion repository nodes and gears
For this strategy to work, you need to maximize the damage of the spell. I took as many one-handed sword mastery nodes as possible to amplify my agility and magical damage as possible to as many one-handed sword mastery nodes as possible. I also invested in the centipedeam set. This is available from Taotin after defeating Bright Weaver. This reduces the damage from two types of Honran damage: thrashing and stab wounds.
If this is far from a typical character build, then there’s no reason you can’t switch to a one-handed sword build for a moment, as you know that the response is free with wuchang’s fallen wings.
Again, here’s the complete list of what I personally equipped in this battle:
- weapon: Astral Blade +4
- armor: Mucard Armor Set
- pendant: Jade pendant, Ruddang pendant, twin infant pendant
- incantation: Burning flames, flames of hell
- Benedict: BU-Skybone Word, Wren-Skybone Vitality, Way-Skybone Magic
Try Longsword deflecting or dual blade collisions
Perhaps you don’t want Honran to be Cheese Commander with magic. If the direct approach is yours, try digging into the skill tree of a longsword or dual blade. A longsword counterattack can deflect Honran’s blows and allow you to follow up on your own strike. Meanwhile, the dual blades can be barried through collision skills. If it’s natural to drag when Hongran is all up on his face, then you might like this way of fighting more.
Honestly, it’s pretty easy to accumulate a disturbed meter in Hongran. You can then slice it on her to get a lot of damage. I simply struggled to do it because what I avoid is always a lot of my skill set, not a lot of my skill set in soulslikes. So, if you can beat Honran one-on-one in close proximity, you’ll be bravo!
