How do you gain insanity and lose insanity with Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
Kill a featherless humanoid and gain insanity with every death. On the other hand, you can lose your insanity by defeating important targets such as feather enemies and bosses. There are also ways to completely cleanse the madness. This is outlined below.
A featherless humanoid refers to a normal enemy whose feather enemies are the opposite, but who do not suffer from feather plague. If you are struggling to distinguish between the two, the feather enemies move in a sick zombie-like way, and usually have red stripes, boils, and/or feathers that extend from your body, just like Wuchan’s arms.
What does wuchang do with feathers?
Your level of insanity determines how much damage you deal and take. It also determines the amount of red mercury (aka Experience Points, and the currency of the feathers that wuchang fell down).
- At 50% insanity, Wuchan’s eyes turn red. If you die below 50% insanity, you will lose only a small portion of the red mercury.
- In 90% insanity, the red demon mark radiates across wuchang’s left arm and chest, indicating that he receives increased damage and increased damage in return, along with more red mercury from the enemy. However, if you die between 50% and 90% insanity, you lose a much larger portion of the red mercury.
- If you die in over 90% madness, all the red mercury will be lost, and the inner demon will appear in your death location.
To see the level of insanity, see the sketch image of Wuchang in the Characters section of the main menu. This image slowly turns red and increases the madness you acquire.
What is the inner demon?
The inner demon is a spectral version of Ushan (slightly covered with a wide hat and stuffed in a bandage) that appears at your final place of death when you die in over 90% of insanity. Somewhat reminiscent of the Eldenling invaders, the inner demon will attack everything near you as you approach the place of death. So, if you have particularly harsh enemies in your path, it’s okay to let your inner demons hit them for a while – be aware that you are the next target!
The inner demons are fast, aggressive and can heal as much as possible. They need practice to be defeated, but it’s worth beating them. Because it not only allows you to collect the red mercury you have dropped, but also rewards like pulled branches that quickly grant you a stack of Skyborn Mite, or pearls of crimson feathers that have returned to the last shrine you visit.
Interestingly, if you die while facing your boss, the inner demons will not appear. This keeps things fair. This is difficult enough for Ushan’s fallen feather bosses to already throw wildcards into the mix. Also, as you enter the area, you will see a surge in madness, and there are certain instances that instantly represent the inner demon. (This happens early in the game’s Doomwillow Beach stretch.)
How to cleanse madness
You can completely cleanse your madness in two ways.
- I will defeat your inner demon.
- Pray to the God of Shu. This can be done by giving the golden statue of Shu a godly gift or a piece of God’s gift. These statues are scattered across the world in various places, but the first place for most players is on the second floor of Shu Sanctum. A thorough exploration of the fallen feather environment of Uchan will naturally acquire God’s gifts and pieces of God’s gifts.
Also, certain items allow you to manipulate madness to your taste – for example, Crazy fragrance It can be consumed to increase insanity and prevent the loss of insanity. It brings us to the final point…
How to use madness for your profit
As the old saying goes, there is a way to all of this insanity and you may want to manipulate your level of insanity or focus on a crazy-centered build. Within the Impetus Repository (the skill tree for Wuchang Fallen Feathers), some left-center nodes provide the skill to kick as insanity passes certain thresholds. for example, Health siphonall Right Attack Combos restore health on the final strike, but only if it is above 90%.
Therefore, if you want to master all the nuances of Wuchang’s combat and survival abilities, we highly recommend using the Madness system carefully. Don’t forget that madness isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it’s actually a useful game mechanic that can bend at a whim if you know what you’re doing.
