Did you think that the lightning of the first war this year would retreat the plans for the next one? it’s not. The second Big 2025 War Thunder Patch is here. And when we say it big, we mean a lot. Leviathan class big. That’s exactly what the focus of the Leviathans update is, where some of the world’s most brutal battleships are lifting the war’s to the limit.
Yamato and the Japanese signature ship (and the largest battleship ever) enter the fight. It’s packed with 18-inch weapons and plenty of anti-aircraft abilities, and comes in both firepower and defensive skin for the enormous energy.
Next, the order of the pecking order is Bismarck in Germany. Equally impressive and incredibly scary, this 15-inch weapon is easily wasted on air and ocean targets.
This leaves the 16-inch USS Iowa as a more mobile option for those trying to avoid the fate of these two legendary boats, avoiding the Soviet Ski Soyuz and the Soviet and British “Last Battleship” HMS Vanguard batting. If you are ready to command a large naval force, it is time to choose a ship and sweep through the sea.
Are you already feeling seasick? There is more to the War Thunder Leviathan update than a larger sailor than the real thing. Back to the ground and back to the sky, multiple territories and countries have access to a frankly dangerous amount of new technology to test and take on.
For the ground-based commanders there, the US, the US and the UK all have new premium packs, with Americans getting access to the fully-equipped RAH-66 Comanche Chopper with Stinger, Hydralock, Hellfire BS and the sleazy retractable weapon Piron.
Other packs include cool new camouflage and anti-aircraft options. This is necessary given the Japanese and other new empty borne options available to some European entities.
So, do you need to swat? Japan welcomes the long-awaited arrival of its own F-2A, an aircraft that is thought to improve the closer rotational capabilities of the F-16.
Denmark, Switzerland and the first homemade Czechoslovak aircraft have also been cut, with Italy and France also getting new premium pack options. And take off on the existing F-111 and throw away the fuel for a dedicated pilot there.
Call your inner heretics and blow up afterburners at the right time and ignite offloaded liquids for the killer’s visual talent. Don’t ignore any additional heat that could cause missiles to return to you. Stop flashy evasive manipulation and you should be talking about the battlefield. Whether it’s a bold dog fighter or an air disaster is up to you.
Unless you’ve taken them to the sea with these new Leviathan-class battleships, you can brawl along the new map and remake your favorites. Beyond the sea and on the ground, the new air battle map, the Falkland Islands attack and defend with almost 17,000 square kilometres of hilly plains and humble homes. It’s a great place to test some of the new jets and choppers.
Stick to its original shape while being re-adjusted for a stunning new visual is the Berlin and Kuban map, welcoming fresh sights and sounds into the ground-based battle. Better yet, fighting these maps means you’ll have the opportunity to test new multi-vehicle SAM systems on familiar battlefields.
Whether you choose to pilot your claws for the US, Japan, Tansamkai, or German Iris-T SLM, you spend your time wisely deploying a network of “launchers” around the battlefield, then strategically switch between them and nearby radar rides to launch missiles.
This is an entirely new way to implement some innovative strategies, opening up new and existing maps with fresh possibilities for despicable attacks. Learning land rugs will allow you to drill holes in attractive enemies like never before. Master it to finely blow your targets before they find you.
Are you ready to try the war thunder in the end? There are more. To facilitate the new player experience, many changes to the Action Panel simplified onboarding without affecting the feel of veterans.
A simple addition includes highlights that will help you meet your requirements for landing at a nearby airfield. Including more buttons may not be suitable for new pilots to acquire bearings, but these are simply descriptive on-screen nodes that reduce the need to remember complex keyboard shortcuts.
A new feature that checks vehicle statistics from the scoreboard makes it easier to learn and decipher what worked in a match. You can also add it straight to your wish list, or remove the need to remember the tricky title of the tank that dropped you down.
Speaking of which, “Destroyed” cards are used to flash up when knocked out and remove players, ranks, vehicles and ammunition from combat. Downtime can turn into a valuable learning experience for beginners. Once you share information with an experienced team leader, you will immediately start learning the tricks of trading.
