Say it’s new Shinobu The title is a long time. The franchise’s last major title was Shinobi 3D In 2011, the case of the Nintendo 3DS (and it must go back to 2002 for the last console title). Unlike both, The Art of Revenge It is a true throwback to classics and courtesy of its art style.

New hand-drawn art style

A smooth, hand-drawn look awaits, but the explanation is not justice. The background is detailed and full of life. Character animation is fluid. And the colour palette is simply incredible, especially during the execution of ninja and ninjutsu. The latter unfolds on a fully animated splash screen. The visual clarity remains robust throughout, but it is an east feast for the eyes.

Developed on LizardCube

Of course there’s a pretty good explanation The Art of Revenge Art style and overall atmosphere. In addition to SEGA, LizardCube handles development. They are the head of those who are praised Wonderboy: Dragon’s Trap But even more so The Way of Anger 4which also helped breathe new life into the franchise. It’s enough to say that it’s an incredible choice for modernization Shinobu While retaining the charm of old school.

Side Scroll Action Platformer

And it is probably the best way to explain the art of vengeance. It’s a classic cool with gorgeous new paint. It’s very similar Ninja Gaiden: RageboundIt retains core side scrolling action platform gameplay whether you fight enemies or navigate with dangerous environments. It’s very similar Shinobi’s There are some unique twists and new mechanisms to revival, master.

Over 12 levels

The action begins with Oboro Village, facing a sudden attack from Ruse and Ene Corp, but picks up from there. Of the dozens of stages revealed so far, we have seen sophisticated metropolitan areas, mobile trains, industrial bases and more. Each has its secrets, side content and bonus stages to explore if it takes time, but there’s plenty of room for speed running.

Combat and combo

The battle is very robust The Art of RevengeJoe can unleash light and heavy attacks, so he takes that chain into a combo. Light attacks are great for disposing small enemies, but heavy attacks can deal more damage and allow them to be hit into the air for more hits. He can also attack in the air, whether it’s a simple slash or diving on the enemy with a kick, and unleash the kunai from afar. The combo count increases over time and can provide some useful buffs depending on the equipment.

Unlock new moves and combos

Musashi will work with unlikely allies against Ene Corp to access the shop in new moves (purchasing with gold collected throughout the stage). Each movement is woven into your combo, whether it’s a powerful finishing blow, a dash that deals bonus damage to your armor, or a running knee. You can unlock some pretty cool options, such as heavy attacks in the air that unleash waves of energy.

The execution of the ninja

It is recommended to frequently use kunai and heavy attacks on enemies. Because this opens them to the execution of the ninja, where Musashi moves forward and finishes. This unleashes a burst of money and health, along with the advantage of instant teleporting to your target. It is always encouraged to set enemies the same way, as more runs equals a higher rank.

Ninpo and Ninjutsu

Wengenz Shinobu Art

Nympo is a special attack, from igniting the enemy’s face to throwing a massive Shuriken. You can equip four at a time. There are also some pretty killer options, such as Water Slash, which appears to function as a parry and a massive snake for a two-hit attack. Next, there is a Ninjutsu – a whole screen attack, collecting orbs of fury, or dealing sufficient damage, unlocking catastrophic amounts of elemental damage.

ningi tool

Musashi has extensive mobility, whether dashing on the ground or in the air, flipping a wooden frame (and continuing the combo after attack), or hanging down as it climbs into the yellow walls and ceiling using ninja claws. Additional tools like grappling ninja hooks and ninja gliders will unlock over time, offering even more options for exploring and discovering secrets.

Secrets, Elite Squad, Cracks

There is a lot of side content at each stage, including elite teams and lifts. To get to them, you need some additional platforms, and elite teams cast a wave of challenging enemies. However, clearing them provides very useful rewards, so it is encouraged to detour as gradually as possible.

Amulet

Amulets are pieces of equipment that can be replaced if necessary, offering many benefits. You can equip two at a time. One is passive and the other is active. The former offers benefits such as improved healing, while the latter allows for increased overall damage output at certain combo thresholds. But be careful – if you do damage, the combo counter will reset and its advantages will be removed.

Difficulty options

Wengenz Shinobu Art

Before you begin, there are three difficulties to choose. Shinobu, “Default” difficulty. Apprentice who slightly reduces enemy health and dials largely environmental damage. Even beginners who are all dialed down, even the amount of combo hits needed to activate the amulet effects. Of course, adjusting these parameters freely can also be a custom difficulty, whether you choose to reduce enemy health while suppressing enemy health or respawn nearest when the game is over (it does not apply to the bonus stage). Unfortunately, you cannot increase the difficulty parameters beyond the current default settings.

Arcade Mode

Once you complete the stage, you can replay the stages in Arcade mode. This will challenge you to complete it as quickly as possible. You can increase your end score by achieving a variety of objectives, such as completing stages without taking damage. Perfect for speed runners and those who want to test their stage mastery.
