Face punch dropped rust The August update and its big feature is the return of hardcore mode with a new, more realistic incarnation. However, there is something for everyone in the patch notes. Survival Games continue to be one of Steam’s most played games. Also, face punches are guaranteed that even if you’re not a hardcore player, you can still get stuck in a lot. The overall rust experience is also smoothed out as the long-term menu overhaul, load speed, metal detector changes and atmosphere have been improved.

Rust August Update is named “Harder Core.” Returning a refined hardcore mode with new ideas and changes requested by some community is a “fresh way to experience rust,” explains Facepunch. I don’t expect the mode to be popular forever, but I’d love to see players react to the challenges and listen to feedback over the next few months. This will help you guide your future decisions all the way through and help you make one of the best survival games on your PC even better.

Fog of War returns to hardcore mode only, obscuring the map when it first appears and gradually revealing it when explored. FacePunch said, “We hope to increase the inherent risk of rust and reward gameplay, and will guide players to carefully consider their next move, as the outcome of death may be important.

To make navigation more interesting, you will be given a new handheld compass item. This must be equipped to see your location on the map. The traditional direction markers integrated into Rust’s HUD are disabled in hardcore mode, making it the only way to know where the compass is going. New items are available in other modes if you want to use them, but you don’t need them there.

You can’t create or investigate firearms at all in hardcore. “You’ll be at the mercy of loot found in the world,” Face Punch teases, but says that you can repair discovered weapons without the need to study them. On top of this, all ammunition crafting costs have increased five times, making all engagements a much larger commitment.

To further emphasize this “more complex thought process when deciding whether to attack other players,” the sleeping bag has increased its hardcore cooldown to 15 minutes. Finally, mode doubled maintenance costs, promoting “tighter and more efficient base design” than the huge, broad compounds that could begin to dominate the map.

Moves beyond just the Hardcore mode will cause other gameplay changes. A minigun was placed in Auto Tourette and spin-ups attacking the helicopter before the helicopter began filming. Weapon statistics are updated dynamically when adding or removing attachments to make it easier to track effects. You can ring the horn on a tugboat. There is a new keybinding to place map markers and clear all current pins. Administrators using Rust commands for invisibility or Godmode now see visual indicators when turned on.

The metal detector is given an overhaul – or, more precisely, the behavior of the lost gear is changing. Now, once the player’s backpack or dropped weapon is born, it will be buried for a day and you can search for it with a metal detector. That’s not exactly where it was left to prevent people from filling up items just to pick them up later. It’s unlikely to find one, but it increases based on the number of areas and guarantees that the site of the attack will be cleaned.

Finishing the August update is a wealth of quality of life and performance upgrades. Optimization loading should “load up to 65% faster from desktop to server load”, reducing the memory usage of the game by 10-20%. The menu has a new navigation bar at the top and is given a fresh coat of paint with features such as a server map preview, a redesigned store, a skin viewer, and a more orderly and convenient inventory screen.

The settings have been reorganized into individual categories, along with a search bar that allows you to quickly explore the specific options you are looking for. The gesture wheel has been overhauled and uses a quick drag and drop interface on the slots of your favorite emot. Finally, new cumulus clouds and fog localising in the biome should enhance the overall atmosphere and better support a variety of dynamic weather.

There are many reasons to check in again on Rust this month. And if you’ve always thought about jumping in, but haven’t been on the plunge, you’re lucky. The steam sales discount will be performed live alongside a new update, allowing you to get one of the most popular games across Valve stores at half price.
