Developer Sloclap has released the first major patch of a competitive football game rematch. Available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, this update brings changes to fix some major issues across all aspects of the game. However, despite this update, which brought some fixes, the studio also notes that there are still some issues it recognizes as part of the next major patch scheduled for a few weeks.

Headlighting a list of features raised as part of the update is a feature that allows players to remap controls. This feature is not yet fully considered in the studio, but developers are noting that players are still unable to create input combinations, but players can still tinker with options to make some changes. A more advanced take on re-applicable controls will be released later.

There are also lots of core gameplay modifications rematchincluding rollback issues during sprinting, improvements in hit detection, and general improvements in netcode. This update brings improved accessibility in the form of Color -Blind mode, providing improved readability and UI feedback and improved player progress screens.

For a complete list of changes, see the patch notes below. For more information rematchplease see the review.

rematch Patch 1 changelog:

Match/Core Gameplay Improvements

Major Changes/Updates

  • GamePad Remapping – This first version is very basic (you can’t create input combinations), but we’ve now allowed players to tinker with mappings before providing a more advanced version right away.
  • Less Move Rollback:
  • – Fixed a rollback issue during sprinting
  • – Improved handling of packet loss during the movement and interaction stages
  • Better hit detection:
  • – Fixed an issue where the ball would deflect rather than being caught by the goalkeeper in certain situations. The speed of the ball was not evaluated correctly to determine whether to catch or deflect. Note: Some designs of adjustments and deflection parameters to catch will also be coming soon.
  • – Improved goal validation when the ball is caught at the goal line: decisions have checked for potential bias/catches and ensured that network variations were considered before verifying goals
  • Other general netcode improvements and fixes

Major fixes

  • Multiple fixes to cameras during goal replay, remove jitters
  • Fixing to “Inhibitor” (physical contact between players): Now it should be more efficient to “body block” your opponent
  • Fixed End Match Screen Skip Function (Finally!): Scoreboards can now be analyzed without automatically returning to the ranking screen
  • Toggle the Pause Menu at any stage of the match: The Pause Menu should be accessible at any time during the match

Minor/Other. Correction

  • Fixed an issue where goalkeepers were not responding to opponent conflicts. The goalkeeper must respond to the physical presence of other players like other players (this does not change the rules of immortality against tackles).
  • Fixed some issues with the physical and visual state of the ball in menu and in match kickoffs.
  • Shots deviated by Outfield Player’s defensive mode have now come at a wider angle, except for goalkeeper or sweeper shots.
  • On the mouse and keyboard, when you perform a tap, the camera controls return a little earlier than before (More details on M&KB tap sighting!)
  • Fixed an issue with ball camera locking while using a mouse and keyboard that teleports back to the front position when shooting.
  • Fixed an issue where pushballs would not enter the last direction when quickly returning to neutral
  • To reduce the Comms Spam slightly, the increase in Communice/Ball Call Callownown will go from 0.8 to 1, slightly reduced

Menu/Interface

Add and Update
