tThere’s something about a smooth action game with fast-paced combat. Getting into the shoes of a character who can unleash catastrophic movements in style is a power trip I always want to be enthralled with.

Often, if they are out of the way of the sick combat loop, I would be very tolerant of graphical restrictions. However, the title P, Black Mythological Lies: Wucon, And recently, wuchang: Falled feather I changed that view.

That’s because better graphics mean that enemy attack animations are easier to read and respond accordingly, but I can’t scoff at some pure grandeur that many places in the titles I mentioned boast about. Combining form and features seems to be a path forward for action games, and there are upcoming titles that I think will do it perfectly.

I’m talking about S games Phantom Blade Zeroan action RPG that recently featured a bit of the enthusiastic gameplay loop in the expected 2026 release. If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a try. I promise you will not be disappointed. Perhaps I’m even sharing my excitement as I’m eagerly waiting for that final release date.

But why does it make me so excited? Well, I’m glad you asked.

Bring Kung Fu to life

Phantom Blade Zero Early in development, you will join a list of visually illustrious titles that have moved from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. both Woocon and Woochan It has already proven that S-Game made the correct call on that front, and its environment and combat system benefited most of the upgrade.

The bosses and enemies looked very good, but the decline and flow of the combat loop felt much more immersed for it. I could only marvel at how the sparks flew from my dual blades every time I collided with an enemy weapon Woochan, It feels like a true master of my weapon in a way that other titles could not be replicated.

I was thinking that seeing Soul take over a horde of enemies in the gameplay demo, and considering that S-Game doesn’t seem to focus on myths or the grandeur of its world, it seems to be focusing on the actual combat loop. Souls brings the weapons of movement and weapons to the table, a skill set worthy of a Master Assassin.

The leap, stab, stab, parry feels impactful, and the overall experience seems to be very well polished, and I can’t wait to get a copy of the game. Although I remained cautious about post-release issues, especially after Leenzee’s own misfortune on PC, it is not unreasonable to speculate that Liang in S-Game and Soul Frame is looking closely, and certainly avoids potential pitfalls.

The familiar chords, new songs

Another area where the showcase caught my attention was how the S-game had a mechanic that was subtly integrated from other titles that seemed to be its inspiration. It was very thrilling to watch the video games play over the years in such an interesting way that the S games have been torn apart through enemy ranks to reach the training camp, the focus of the demo.

First of all, the mechanic running to the wall was a brilliantly implemented callback to Ubisoft’s. Prince of Persia The title from the early 2000s. That’s something I once thought was pretty cool and I’m confused by the fact that other studios didn’t use it in the meantime. But it’s not in Phantom Blade Zero To add a cool new way to traverse that beautiful world.

Phantom Blade Zero

Running over a wall is an effective way to close the distance to your target in the game, and is a very useful addition if you are trying to reach nasty long-range enemies that fire away from the highlands in other titles. When used strategically, I am sure running to the wall will be a huge game changer for many talented players.

And then there was stealth and eavesdropping. Sekiro: Shadow dies twice When I was in 2020, I had nothing to do at home and was quarantined other than chasing the boss every night. Soul saw him perform his own version of the Mikiri counter multiple times! But he not only resigns the enemy’s weapons, but rather takes it from them and turns the table in the heat of fighting!

It’s a move I can’t wait for the first time to come. And whenever you see a red flash that indicates it’s time to point your enemy’s blades at them! I didn’t find a soul teleporting behind his enemies, but I’m sure Ghost Step will be as cool as this new way of countering anything that other games simply call non-blockable attacks that they have to avoid.

I was able to continue on all the methods many times Phantom Blade Zero It reminds me of some nifty additions from my favorite games over the years, but you can get points. It’s time to reach my most anticipated 2026 release reason meat.

Fast, furious, fashionable, fun fight

Phantom Blade Zero

Yes, what you’ll be playing the moment you release this game is the battle loop on display. S-Game was careful to burn the equipment menu etc to avoid giving too much, but that’s obvious. Phantom Blade Zero It’s a game where you can set up a battle front and center.

Soulframe Liang’s desire to create an action game in the Wuxia genre might just come true if the rest of the game is something like what I saw in the demo. For those unfamiliar with this term, it roughly translates into martial arts heroes. In other words, it means that it is a story that focuses on using their skills to meet their destiny or using their skills to achieve a particular goal.

It’s the perfect framing Phantom Blade Zero The story tells the soul that there are only 66 days to uncover the mystery surrounding the death of his master. That’s also a great way to frame the game’s battles with that in mind. sifu We are approaching replicating the style that is based on the pace and reflection that the soul seems to bring to the battlefield.

It’s also the perfect reason to offer soul enemies a skill set as broad as your own, and you can’t afford to encounter either side. I can’t wait to see what the player does in that action. And finding ways to make a game that is already stylish looks even better.

Phantom Blade Zero

And don’t let me start that boss. The last boss that S Game introduced in its demo made me wonder how I was trying to keep an eye on seven different enemies. To give a little context, the brotherhood of the black rabbit from p’s lie I fill me with fear, despite being so good at it. I absolutely hate multi-enemy boss fights, but that’s also why I love taking on them – the challenge.

S-Game has assured players that the difficulty options will allow as much access to the game as possible, but I simply switch it to the most difficult difficult and floor the enemy until I gain the right to equip weapons of all the glorious skills of the enemy. And it goes without saying that the hardcore mode mentioned by the developers will become available after the first playthrough.

This is a unique way to complete a new Game Plus and I am sure it will be a challenge no matter how powerful you are for the first time. Phantom Blade Zero It brings chills and thrills with equal measures and appears to be able to keep up the action even after rolling story credits.

Long wait time

I’m definitely enthusiastic Phantom Blade Zero After seeing what it can do, I forget to not temper my enthusiasm a little carefully. After all, I am disappointed with the demos of the past. But again, I made a bet with my peers about success clear clear nabure: expedition 33.

It’s too early to comment on the potential success of S-Game’s upcoming adventures, but it looks like a love letter to action RPG fans. can Phantom Blade Zero Will you live up to my high expectations? I certainly hope so. Once it’s released, can I definitely prove I’m wrong? It’s a humble pie slice and will be very bitter after the latest showcase of the game.

I hope that the former will be replaced by the latter in 2026.
