Gamescom 2025 It was quite an experience. It was the year when we finally got the long-awaited concrete release date. Hollow Night Silk Song and Bloodline 2and that year World of Warcraft Added player housing. In many ways, the countless game “loose end” felt like a show that was finally tied up, perhaps to dodge the GTA 6’s Spector, but who cares? As a result, we won. You all watched the opening night live from the comfort of your home – perhaps judging Jeff Kayley’s thorough midshort – me and two of the brave Newschools of the two PCGNs, Jamie ran around for previews and names of the game (literally there were a lot of interviews). After three days of confusion, friendship and lots of coffee, Gamescom’s top 6 games are here and they couldn’t be more different.

As you know, at PCGamesn we take pride in our ability to cover a huge array of PC games. Jamie is the FPS demon, and he leaps out of his night’s head, clench rounds, and sometimes gets EA Sports FC games. I’m a story-driven RPG Savant. My time stops time exploring the vast world of fantasy, role-playing as a vampire, unusual (read “not unusual”), and casting abuse on other players in League of Legends. It’s not surprising that Gamescom’s picks are noticeably different, but you may not expect anything yet.

Vampire: Masquerade – Bloodline 2

Lauren Belgin: In no way shocked anyone, Bloodlines 2 was my show game. After a long wait to finally get a glimpse into the next chapter of the iconic VTM SAGA, I have great hopes for the final release. You can play the next quest of the game on Gamescom and read my thoughts in full in my Bloodlines 2 preview, but the action just keeps increasing and the mystery continues to lay eggs. Knowing a little more about Pandora, we need to know how she fits into this big, complicated mess that Fia has stumbled upon. There is momentum and excitement. I can taste the blood of my tongue and I want more. Plus, a special appearance by White Wolf’s brand manager and LA was a welcome surprise at Jason Carl in the evening.

Phantom Blade Zero

Jamie Whore: Earlier this year I was able to experience Phantom Blade Zero for the first time at a summer game fest. The action game that finds sweet spots between martial arts-inspired Hack and Slash and soul-like battles left a big impression on me at the time. A few months later, on Gamescom, I realized that I was aiming for it again. This time, a more fleshed demonstration awaited me. This included the publication of one of the most beautiful world maps I have ever seen and a basic and satisfying traversal. New weapons – and with connections, there were also more appetizing combat animations. But what beat me was (again) an incredible boss fight. Despite my opposition to the same bosses I faced in the SGF preview, the decision I made in the first half of the demonstration added new (and very challenging) wrinkles to the encounter I blew away. I won’t go into detail to avoid spoilers, but that’s an early indicator of the level of detail the S game has been added to the Phantom Blade Zero, and despite over an hour of practical time, I really didn’t want to leave the booth. If your PBZ isn’t on the radar yet, you really need it.

Witch Spirit

LaurenIn stark contrast to the moodiness of Bloodlines 2, Envar Games’ Witchspire is a colorful, magical fantasy survival game that incorporates the stubborn spirit of a genre like Valheim and blends with the vibrant Breath of the Wild-Esketics. As a self-proclaimed created hatred, I didn’t look forward to cutting down an hour of trees and cooking food, but Witchspire’s generous mechanics and cute roster of cute collective creatures find the most boring chores interesting. It appears that fantasy takes the back seat in other survival adventures, but Witchspire has magic infused into its soul and can’t wait to play it when it releases next year.

117: Roman Pax

Jamie: I played quite a few city builders in my time, but for reasons unknown to science, the beloved Ano series passed me. Well, Gamescom has put together 28 years of regret into one regret in an hour-long demonstration. Thank you Anno 117. The new entry was made during the Roman Empire and I was given the opportunity to try out the new Albion Map. It depicts a harsh but beautiful Celtic region with dense forests, rocky mountains and unstable marshlands. Building my settlement, businesses and infrastructure has been a satisfying and therapeutic challenge, but I was particularly impressed with the new mechanics that can determine whether you are culturally aligned with the Romans and Celtics. Do you traditionally force locals into Roman ways of life, change the way they dress and drain the marsh to create more constructable land? Or will you embrace and embrace the Celtic tradition by investing in the produce they enjoy (like cheeses I also enjoy) and leave their sacred land in agriculture as they have done for years? Anno 117 is my big “fun surprise” at Gamescom and I’m extremely keen to return to Albion soon.

The death of courage

Lauren: I can openly say that I had no hope of a game like Souls being on my list at all, but Lo and behold, another level of courage Mortis did just that. From the creative mind behind Ghostrunner, one of my favourite franchises, Valor Mortis blends the genre’s traditional ducking, avoidance, and smart platforms, fusing while adding guns. Cast as William, a fallen soldier in Napoleon’s Grande Arme, and at the request of your previous patrons, you must fight through a horde of plague-stricken monsters. In a world where the 2-second game is a Souls-like action RPG, Valor Mortis has become more prominent from the crowds – it’s really saying something.

Hell loosens Vietnam

Jamie: The sequel we certainly didn’t come takes a surreal battle in the first game hardcore to Southeast Asia through hell’s loose Vietnam. Despite only a few practice times, the loose features of hell quickly became apparent. Low levels of health require regular coverings and ingesting sleazy secret routes. And then the incredibly immersive audio that glowed especially brightly as enemy bullets were pinned into a tiny shack where they were blown away as they slammed against the wall. He is also intrigued by a new balanced act between the military capabilities of the US and Vietnamese forces. Playing on the US side gives you access to powerful helicopters that can transport troops and equip them with weapons. But to counter this, Vietnamese can build networks of tunnels, not only evacuating underground, but also transitioning to new targets undetected. I can’t wait to see how it shakes.

Here is the list of the best PC games on Gamescom 2025. There are plenty of upcoming PC games to add to your list right next to the Hollow Night Silk Song release date and to the fullest extent possible. However, in the meantime, keep an eye on and take a look at more Gamescom previews and interviews. Make sure your favorite publications are our discrepancies.
