new Final Fantasy 14 A special site has been launched covering the imminent Monster Hunter Wiles Crossover event scheduled to land in early October. This collaboration has been one of the most demanded in both games in recent years, following the success of Stormblood’s dance with Monster Hunter World. Lead Guardian Arkveld to FF14 while MH Wilds prepares for the arrival of the Omega planet. Now Square Enix has given us a more detailed look at the gear, mounts, minions and housing items we can get.
The story of DawnTrail closes, and Final Fantasy 14 players are preparing for their next journey. However, there are a few more entanglements, such as the arrival of Beastmaster Limited Job and the new Deep Dungeon, the Pilgrim’s Traverse, before lifting centerstage with the 8.0 expansion. With the latter additions arriving almost side-by-side to be a new Monster Hunter collaboration, I’m already in the itch to put Arkveld on the task.
“Mystical Markville will fall into your hands and cause hunting of prey in another world,” the quest reads. “Alongside Ferrin’s clients and trusted Sacret horses, you will soon discover that your target is nothing more than the horrifying Guardian Arkveld, the Hunter Bane.
That last sentence suggests that similar self-healing mechanics can be expected in Stormblood’s great hunting battles, and Yoshida suggests to PC Gamesn on Gamescom, and also suggests that Arkveld’s movement needs to be more successful than cast bars. When it comes to item levels, the basic difficult battle, The Windward Wilds, appears with the same 725 item level requirements as the latest 7.3 story trial and the San D’Oria Alliance Raid. On the other hand, the extreme has a minimum of 740, similarly alongside an extreme trial of 7.3.
As for rewards, I have obtained variations of both the Hope Armor Set, the starting gear for Monster Hunter Wild. I’m very pleased with this – they’re a great design that fits well into the FF14 world, so it doesn’t require as much operation as the old Lazaros set. Hopefully they won’t be gender locked. Restrictions on the provision of Stormblood will ultimately be lifted, and there are no such restrictions in the wild.
Naturally, the weapon design is based on the incarnation of Guardian Arkbelld. You will see dual blades, great swords, gunlances and hammers. Obviously, Square Enix needs to need some tinkering to narrow them down to the FF14 job lineup, but I’m curious to see how these are actually implemented. Based on the pose, the dual blades appear to be modeled by Ninja, Greatssword, Greatsword, Gunlance by a Gragoon, and hammer by…a black mage.
You can already hear the tank player sweating. What will the Dark Knight and the Warrior wield? It is worth noting that no actual details are given. So the team simply chose these stances for showcase purposes and may not reflect the jobs that appear in the game. For example, samurai seem to be naturally suited to longswords. Still, the design looks good and I’m sure I’ll grab the Great Sword where it’s available.
Plus, there’s the Seikret mount we already knew – it looks like a unique model rather than a special chocobo bard, as it means I can’t bring it into a fight with us, but I’ll admit that it’s true to the Monster Hunter as well. The two minions are extremely exciting. There is an adorable baby sacred and a floating viggoisp carrying a large sphere of soothing juice.
You can also view residential items based on Wild pop-up camps and covered storage boxes. There is also a new BBQ with Parisian style training dummies, folding sheets and a full rack of roasted meat. It’s all we see today and looks better, but certainly there are some notable absenteeism. However, I don’t think this has a big picture yet.
Square Enix says it will “continue to update special sites with the latest information on crossovers,” and notes that descriptions of the extreme variants of White Wraith offer “exclusive rewards.” In Stormblood’s “The Hunt for Rathalos,” both Rathalos Mount and Poogie Minion were locked behind the extreme trial, but the armor provided was an expanded version of the existing Rathalos-themed set.
I’m not necessarily expecting too much, but the slightest voice behind my head can’t question how cool it is to see Guardian Arkbade Armor as an extreme reward that somehow came to fruition. What I think is most likely to be watching is the Guardian Arkbade Mount. It’s not listed on the site yet, but it would be an ideal extreme inclusion once Seikret ends as a reward for a standard rebellious match.
The FF14 Monster Hunter Wilds Crossover, The Windward Wilds, will arrive in early October. As mentioned earlier, you must be an active subscriber who completed 7.0 DawnTrail MSQ with a character at level 100. If you’re not there yet, don’t worry. Collaboration is a permanent addition, so you’re still waiting when you’re ready.
If your crossover tempts you to pick up the latest on Capcom, check out the system requirements for your Monster Hunter Wilds first, as it has proven to be rather demanding so far. Or, in 2025 we’ve put together more of the best action games.
Are you looking forward to the crossover or have you dreamed of another fight? Please tell me about PCGamesn Community Discord Server. While he admits that the prospect of taking on Bahamut in Monster Hunter is attractive, the mechanical aspect of Omega becomes more interesting and unknown than what is summed up in “basically another dragon.”
