the mafia The series has been running for over 20 years, and while key receptions across the franchise ranged from high praise to slippery reviews, all core entries have a classic status that has been acquired more or less within the community. However, there is no doubt that the series has seen a noticeable decline in quality since its debut in 2002. Freeviia II III Receive mixed critical receptions.
That said, the game was able to sell the reported 7 million copies by 2020. The same year, Hangar 13 was released Mafia: Definitive Edition A move that reaffirms 2K’s belief in the franchise’s enduring appeal for more critical acclaim and decent commercial success. Well, in 2025 we have Mafia: Old Countries. But the doubt remains. Do you want to take the series to new heights or simply keep stomping on the water?
Let the elephant out of the room: a story. Certainly most players come mafia A game for mature high stakes stories. Freeviia II IIIit is definitely one of the more mediocre games in the series, and it praises its storytelling, and, of course, given how effectively it tackles mature themes and real-world issues.
I’m glad I was able to report Mafia: Old Countries Storytelling is simply outstanding for the most part. Players step into the shoes of the likable protagonist Enzo Fabara, who lives a difficult life until he is taken to Don Bernardo Torisi. Enzo begins his errands for Don and slowly rises up his rank. The characterization of both Enzo and Don Torrisi is fantastic, with their performance being enhanced by excellent audio acting. Torishi’s voice actors in particular have serious weight and impact on every line.

“Themes of betrayal and how our ego and desires control the human mind and mind are fully displayed here.”
Enzo is also supported by a great supporting cast, many of whom accompany him during the mission. These characters are not only well written, but also wonderfully portrayed by each actor. I don’t ruin the main plot, but I say that the writing and distribution really cared about these characters and what would happen in the end.
The themes of betrayal, and how one’s ego and desires control the human mind and mind, are fully displayed here. Mafia: Old Countries This is a question that is repeated through influencing dialogue or through subtle facial expressions and animations. It was one of the core pillars of the story and the driving force that forced each character to see the conclusions of the arc.
Now, I said, as you might have noticed largely The story stands out. That’s because while the game does a great job of building complex relationships and interests, the transition to the final reward feels a little rushed. It’s as if an hour or so of a storytelling is missing near the end, leaving the climax feeling slightly sharply. Don’t get me wrong, Mafia: Old Countries Overall it provides a great story. However, if the pace of the finale had improved, I was able to enhance the overall experience. Still, this stands as one of the best stories in mafia The series, and longtime fans have been taking part in the snacks.
So let’s jump to the gameplay mechanics Mafia: Old Countries. Certainly, many of the latest ones mafia The game remains the same here. Stealth plays a key role at many levels specially designed around it, and some missions can even impose undetected rules. It would be unfair to compare something like stealth. Metal Gear SolidEnzo is not a soldier, so the basics are stupid fun because there are no better words.
It’s fun to sneak up on and defeat an enemy you’re not aware of, or simply wait to hide and wait. You can also deflect the guards by throwing objects, but overall, the stealth element was pretty basic and honestly, that was enough. It’s done work and that’s what matters at the end of the day.
“We can also source different types of knives, each offering unique buffs such as increased combat damage after takedowns and healing enzo.”
Gun combat remains largely a simple event. You hide, wait for a shot, and defeat the enemy. However, there is a considerable range of weapons you can use at your disposal. From shotguns and rifles to handguns, there are a variety of tools to collect and use. This time I noticed that AI has seen clear improvements. The enemy now shows a sense of strategy, collaborating more effectively, striving hard to wash you away and defeat you.
Adding a bit of flavour to the mix is a single knife duel, a fun encounter that serves as a nice turnaround with a regular gun. Thankfully, they don’t overuse, they appear primarily as story-driven set pieces, focusing primarily on avoiding, accepting and hitting their opponents at the right moment.
You can also source different types of knives. Each knife can also provide unique buffs such as increased combat damage after takedown and healing enzo. Plus, there’s a lightweight skill system that allows Enzo to improve aspects such as reload speed, ammunition discovery, and more. Overall, it’s still very simple, but Old countryThe combat system of the series feels significantly tighter and refined compared to previous entries.
Oh, and you can buy a good looking car from that era, or a horse to ride. These seem like add-ons to the entire system and are designed to encourage players to explore the world, but that’s far from the case. Now, let me be clear. The world is skillfully crafted, but it’s an absolute treat to watch, but this is not an open world game. There is an exploration mode where you can roam around and collect items, but it doesn’t make much sense to do so rather than simply playing the story.
But I’m not making this a negative thing. In fact, I’m grateful Old countryMore strict and more concentrated design. The game prevents exploration during Story Mode by providing a skip lide feature. Honestly, I think it’s a better decision compared to the open world approach. Freeviia II III. That said, I feel that a small detour might help bring the world to a greater extent. There were some really fascinating characters here, and some additional story-driven detours were able to bring out even more depth.
Mafia: Old Countries There are plenty of amazing set pieces that will instantly remind you of some famous action adventure games. There are thrilling chases on a car and horse, adrenaline-filled races, and some great over-the-top sequences. The side notes seem to handle the car properly. There are options for both simulation-style driving and manual gear shifting, adding a great touch of authenticity. Single playthrough of Mafia: Old Countries It may vary depending on the difficulty setting you choose, but can last anywhere from 10 to 15 hours.
“Mafia: Old Countries It advances the return of a low-cost, focused single-player experience, offering a compact yet memorable adventure. ”
Old country Runs on Unreal Engine 5 and, of course, brings some performance concerns. I reviewed the game on a PC with a 3080 Ti, Ryzen 9 5950X and ran it on an SSD. I played it in 4K using DLSS in Balance mode, and thankfully this game offers decent graphical settings, which makes it far from the Barebones PC port. There were occasional stutters, but most of the time there were very few spectacular settings, some high settings, over 30 frames per second. Overall, performance was acceptable, but mileage may vary depending on the hardware.
Mafia: Old Countries It’s a stunning game that transcends the world. The character models are impressive, the accompanying music is solid, and the game supports the presentation of films that the series has long known. Combine it with a great cast and top-tier voice acting and what you get is a product that fires into every cylinder when it comes to that view.
Mafia: Old Countries Many things are right, but they don’t offer much in terms of replay value. Once you’ve finished the game, you can explore the world, play individual chapters, and buy a few more cars and horses, but there’s no new Game Plus mode or meaningful game content. Due to its price, this is a decent product, but players who are hoping for more depth and long-term engagement may be a bit disappointing.
in conclusion, Mafia: Old Countries It advances the return of a low-cost, focused single-player experience, offering a compact yet memorable adventure. If you enjoy a game built around strong storytelling and tight designs that respect your time, this will quickly come to your alley.
