hOllow Knight: Silkson Here, the shock of shock, it’s even more challenging than its predecessor. As gorgeous as many locales in Pharloom, they pose many dangers, from harsher enemies to environmental dangers. Without the right tools, even the simple act of exploration can be rough. Luckily there are several ways to overcome them and make climbing the Citadel much easier.
Buy everything from Shakura

Perhaps the most important NPC encountered early on, Shakra is a warrior/cartographer who owns the tools needed to map your journey, but does not accept shards. She ventured out to the left enemy and the farm enemy for another currency and began buying everything she owns. Compass, quill, pins – everything. The map is very valuable Silkson Just as they were in the original Hollow Knightand it is always essential to know where and all the prominent points of interest.
Reaction vs Action
Sometimes you can jump into the enemy and get a free hit before you know what it was, but that’s not always the case in Falroom. A few enemies will bump into each other violently, especially early on, leaving two health conditions unstoppable. If you have multiple points, you may be able to quickly get to your hind legs. They keep track of the situation, observe their surroundings, see what they are doing, but they remain agile and out of reach, especially as mobility options such as Swift Step and Wall Crimbing become available.
When in doubt, demonstrate your silk skills
In some circumstances, I find myself storing silk in case I need to heal. The fight with Sister Splinter is one such example, but sometimes it’s better to take a risk and use it on Silkspear instead. Complete small mobs quite quickly (i.e., they are surprised quickly), dealing more damage to the boss. Attacks can really be the best defense. Or at least buy a valuable breathing patio.
Get the thread storm as soon as possible
Of course, you will need Silk Skills as quickly as possible, especially with some of the challenges waiting for you. In that respect, Thread Storm is your best bet with that damage. It has been found in Greymore and requires finding the weaver’s tomb. With the vast amount of platforms included, if you haven’t mastered Hornet diving, it’s best to look for one of the two coats of arms first.
Don’t be afraid of the Grim Reaper
Rumors of the death of Infinite Pogong are highly exaggerated. Located in a special building in Greymore, the Reaper emblem gives something more traditional Hollow Knight– Downward slash style. Also great for combat as after healing, the Hornet can temporarily attack enemies and generate additional silk. These appear in the form of small spheres that dissipate after a certain period of time, but in boss battles, you should avoid getting into the tunnel too much.
All the people wandering
The Wanderer’s Coat of Arms is another solid option for exploration and some combat. You need to buy Simple Key from Pebb in Bone Bottom, unlock the door through the bone marrow, and avoid Craggler (Swift Step Holt) to reach Wormways. Continue to adventure west and eventually return to the first area where some sort of grave awaits. Adventure to the end, and the Wanderer’s coat of arms is yours. If the Shinigami crest is too late, this provides even more thrashing. Hollow Knight It will be much easier to attack and pogo enemies. That limited range isn’t ideal for boss fights, but having two sockets on the yellow tool is pretty good.
Crest’s Changing Move Set
Depending on the emblem that is equipped, the Hornet move set may change, not extending to default attacks or downward slashes, but so does the charged slash. With the Wanderer’s crest, the charged attacks bring about a multi-hit rapid stab wound, but at the top of the Grim Reaper, it’s a decent knockback and a big swing. Experiment and find the one that’s best for your play style.
Create a better tool
When you get as strong as the straight and long pins do, you need better offensive tools. Find Forge’s daughter who can challenge deep docks and ask them to create new tools like Sting Shards that make powerful traps. She also offers a craft kit, which increases the damage to the tool, but may seem more expensive at first, but is worth going back to keep the tool sharp.
When to bind (and not)
Unlike Knights, Hornets can heal multiple hit points with bindings and even start it in the air. The problem is that you consume the entire silk gauge, even if you only heal one mask. If an enemy attacks during binding animation, you can interrupt the process. That means there is no healing and all silk is lost. Before healing, place some distance between you and your enemies and track their ranged attacks and patterns.
Memory Rocket Limitations
I would have thought this was obvious enough, but it’s enough to be notable to see some players making this mistake. Memory rockets only open sockets to a single coat of arms, not all coats of arms in stock. If you find more as you progress (the vendors also sell them), but you’re not sure about the coat of arms you’re investing in, wait until you build a decent stock first.
Everything was tied up
To tie essentially non-shade currencies is a gain of mixed opinions from players. This linked currency is not lost upon death, but the act of unity requires the same currency to be spent. So the process costs 80, but you only get 60 strings that have lost 20. Ultimately, it is beneficial, especially in lesser known, more dangerous areas, if there is surplus. Bound currency can be found just by lying down, so keep it in stock and break it rather than tie yours if necessary.
We are against the world
It’s tempting to challenge all the bosses and hit them with the head until you win, and you don’t need all of them. Some people, including Skull Guard, a giant red ant with a bone marrow club, are optional and better dealt with having the ability like Swift Step. Of course, you can beat them without it, as I did modestly, but that’s not necessary. Don’t forget to get map pins from Shakura, which highlights the location of challenging enemies.
Explore, explore, explore
As much as the Hornet wants to rise to the Citadel, it often pays to stay and listen for a while. Explore the surroundings and attack walls wherever you go to the secret alcoves and corridors. Check out the side passages and take your time to revisit areas that may be open to Needlin. You may discover a series of tools that will make your journey easier, including items that increase maximum health and silk.
Check your wishboard regularly
Speaking of revisiting, make it a point to revisit all the towns that have been discovered and check their wishboards. These can usually provide new requests that include previous territory and provide a variety of rewards, such as memory rockets and currency. They are updated regularly, so check in again if necessary.
Before entering the fortress
Ultimately, you will meet the requirements necessary to enter the fortress. Congratulations! However, there’s a lot to do, but at least it doesn’t involve weapon upgrades. This can be done free of charge at Bellhart, and you can also receive requests for oils that can be further improved. It’s essential as more hit enemies can take, but also you won’t be able to temporarily return until you’ve gone through the underwork. If you don’t get hooked on the latter with a tougher run, take that free damage.
