onThe surface is simple enough to explain Flockthe latest title of Okamotive, far series. As a child/teen, you wake up under a bridge that looks like a bustling city and head towards a mysterious beast called Karikorn. After removing the bucket from your head and tame it, you go through the empty streets, add other calicorn to the flock, and leave the city and go into the wild. It’s simple and has no words, but it’s similar to the far, but it’s often unsaid that can have the greatest impact.

The dichotomy between urban life and navigating the wilderness would have been sufficient in itself. At that moment, I saw my crowds moving on the train. Another involved watching a lonely car across the head of a bridge that was almost similar to how the main character began. nevertheless, Flock Beyond that, we tell a story about the bonds and compassion of your flock. This fits surprisingly well into the story of the protagonist himself, despite knowing minimal things about them.

I don’t know where they came from or how they first came to that. The plight of each creature provides enough context to fill in the blanks. This Karicorn was injured by something while searching for a shelter. What about these other calicorns left on the ferry in the middle of the lake?

Of course, over time they evolved past “this and its caricorn” and their names were given to them. Zoe, the first Karicorn I tamed, is not only big, but she also has love. It would be enough for the menu to show just as much, but sometimes it feels like she’s gently tweaking towards me. Then there’s Jean, who saved me from falling off the cliff. His courage is reflected in his stoicism, but in a way it reminds me of the trauma he continued to overcome. Shinyuu is Rascal and I still don’t understand why, but their happy go-lack and mischievous nature has grown into me.

Each caricorn stands out, some in a very subtle way, others more obvious. I wanted to see more prominent personality and mood develop at a faster pace, but they provide ample amounts of different movements, horns and responses. It is what stands out when you feed, pets, nurse them, bring them back to full health and decorate them with the various trinkets discovered on your trip. Outside of the strange anti-alias with fur, Karicorn comes across as cute and affectionate, but still resembles a herd beast. I swear it makes more sense in the game.

There’s a deeper story. Only Karicorn, one of the mystical shepherds before the protagonist, who appears to be traveling on the same path, is revitalized and as depicted in the paintings depicted in various dreams. I think this is because this entire Odyssey is pre-defined. Perhaps it is some sort of ordeal that the flock and their shepherds must overcome.

The world building doesn’t take into account too many cities, but we see a variety of totems and monuments that show past journeys and those who have come before. The vast numbers of devastated buildings and abandoned infrastructure, coupled with the lack of others, are another hint that something is not right in the world, but again, it is not the core focus.

By now you’re probably wondering: what is the gameplay loop? Flock? After all, the title is another clue. As a flock shepherd, it’s your job to lead you from one place to another. Press the trigger on the right to move the herd to a specific point. By holding it down, they can place a moving mark that continues, but that’s not the problem of standing and hitting an RT at a time. You need to stay behind the herd and carefully rearrange yourself to move the guide marks. So make sure there is a clear path in the herd. Eventually you get the option to hold RT and then press again to boost.

There is a light puzzle to solve along the way, usually with the help of a pack, moving heavy objects, jumping over small gaps and flipping the switch. However, moving the herd slowly to avoid touching sharp environmental objects, things quickly become dangerous. One sequence involves slowly leading around a pine cone-like structure in the forest.

Move slowly, and even stop the herd at a point and enter the position to set the next marker, is important in these instances, and you can feel the pain you felt when the Karicorn hurts itself, and you have no choice but to become a soldier. As linear as the progression of the different environments in the game, I appreciate the alternative routes. I’ll just go on a more clearer path, go through the pine cones and put the herd in the gun, pick up the flowers that lie behind them, and just boost them? It’s a small choice, but it offers a welcome option for those who fantasize about opportunities.

Similar challenges are waiting, and sometimes it can be a bit troubling to pilot the herd in tighter spaces, especially when suddenly, when you return to double. It can also be a little difficult to pilot the hero to make sure the guide mark remains in the easiest pass, especially as you can bump into other caricorns. Holding the sprint button helps with quick relocation. Overall, I felt little of these annoying things.

However, I feel it is very consistent throughout Flock A stunning art direction. It is sometimes lively as the dusk illuminates the seemingly endless fields of flowers, and clouds swirl over the mountains ahead. Things can change quickly, especially as fog creeps up when you cross a huge lake by ferry. Regardless, the work of lighting, shadows and textures stands out, but the aesthetics are a realistic balance with animation.

For a while, the only real Qualm is performance, as frame rates can drop significantly. It’s not enough to make the experience unplayable, but it can hurt a little bit of a moment. Thankfully, music doesn’t suffer from such problems and quickly moves into a quiet, whimsical song, even if it relies heavily on the moment in question.

Apart from its control and core mechanism, Flock Not the most unorthodox adventure experience. The puzzle is far from a head scratcher, and the level design is very easy to design at a pace and subtle level. Nevertheless, as some mood pieces, some atmospheric mystery, and some animal bonding simulators, their presentations and emotions are put together in memorable packages.

It certainly doesn’t require much of your time, but it feels like a suitable length for what’s on offer. As long as it is different farespecially in the absence of survival factors and machine management. Flock It has a certain charm that is inherent to Okamotive, and it becomes a calming and emotionally tragic equal experience.
