After the best PC VR games on Steam, Rift and Viveport? Covered in the Top 25 lists.

The PC VR landscape has changed dramatically over the years. Previously, it was the forefront focus of the entire industry, but new headsets in various categories have been seen attracting attention from developers and publishers. Still, we are often rewarded each year with a variety of new gems that push the fidelity of a VR experience in ways that lower hardware can’t manage.

What’s great about the best PC VR games list is that even the old games on this list from nine years ago continue to be some of the best looking titles in all VR today. Most of these experiences can be found on SteamVR, but can be found on Rift, Viveport, Gog, or EGS. There are few new lift releases these days, but there are still exclusives that are too good to ignore.

We have to stop somewhere on these lists, but there are many more recommendations if you want them with our honorable mentions. These are games that were previously listed and then deleted, or have not beaten the rest completely.

If the game is related to one of the main entries, such as a sequel or a spinoff, I’ll mention it there instead. I’ve linked reviews and other reports below if possible, but here are some titles worth considering.

  • Township Story, Aliens: Unauthorized intrusion, 3d between us, Arizona Sunshine 2, Bleacher, Compounds, Eleven table tennis, Health Weaper, Hubris, Microsoft Flight Simulator 24, The lies and the rain, Metro Awakening, mist, Population: 1, Fasmus phobia, Robo recall, Skydance Giants, I’ll be silent, Tetris Effect, Da Vinci Vr’s House, Midnight walk, Super Voice 2, Until you fall, V-Racer Hover Bike, Vendetta is forever, Wanderer, Wilson’s Heart.

It is worth noting that this list does not include modified PC games. So there’s no need for an Unreal Engine VR injector or any other method. Everything contained here is designed for official PC VR support, but you can get in touch with mods of these in-game support. We have tried to vary the recommendations, so there is something for everyone. This list is in alphabetical order, not ranked preferences.

For now, these are the top 25 best PC VR games from SteamVR, Rift and Viveport.

The Story of a Fisherman 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zwpcipxhbu

Fisherman’s Tale 2 (previously known as the Another Fisherman’s Tale) is the second article in this puzzle series in Innerspace VR, following the release of the Mindbending original in 2019. The player will again embed the fisherman Bob.

New mechanics allow you to separate parts of Bob’s body from yourself, manipulate them independently around the environment to solve puzzles, reaching new locations. Experience in the first game is not necessarily required. This sequel doesn’t always reach the same peak as its predecessor, but presents a wider range with many original ideas over a few fun hours.

Another Fisherman’s Story Review: Overboard of the Hands and Foots of this Innovative Sequel

Another Fisherman story is available today on Quest, PC VR and PSVR 2. Here’s the full review.

The Arken era

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rflthh0o_ws

Arken Age has paid clear attention to the evolution of VR gameplay design over the past decade and has used them to its advantage. Developer VitruviusVR has provided a satisfying sci-fi action adventure that protects this fantasy world from mechanical creatures.

It offers a considerable campaign with room for follow-up. All this is supported by a lively presentation with great visuals and powerful audio design. This has been one of our favorite VR games of 2025 so far, and Arken Age is an absolute must for action fans.

Arken Age Review: Sci-fi adventures with amazing VR design

Arken Age offers a satisfying sci-fi adventure with its clever VR-oriented design, and is released on PlayStation VR2 and Steam.

Asgard’s rage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y-vx_uert0

Asgard’s Wrath may not have Skyrim level content, but for our money, this becomes more important among the two VR games by focusing on sword fights and character progression in native VR. This is a Nordic adventure created by grabs, divided into three parts that capture the heart of the RPG genre.

Asgard’s Wrath finds himself fully glorified using the power of PC VR and helps him beat his opponents in the battle for the best PC VR games to date. A sequel later continued in 2023, but Asgard’s Wrath 2 remained exclusive to quests that didn’t seem to have a chance for PC VR ports.

Asgard’s Wrath Review: The Best and Most Ambitious Games in VR

A massive action-adventure RPG from Sanzaru Games’ Asgard’s Wrath was finally released on October 10th, immersing most of the past few days in the chronicles of Norse mythology, bringing a complete and comprehensive review. Let me be very and immediately clear:

Defeat Saber

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4m_4j1gz-y

Beat Saber is basically very sensational on every headset, and it’s easy to forget the humble beginnings of the game as an early access PC VR title. Despite Meta’s acquisition of Beat Games, the PC VR version of the game remains the sharpest place to play Beat Saber. Still, it’s one of the best PC VR games, but wherever you enjoy VR, Beat Saber is a must.

There have been plenty of new DLCs added over the years to beat Saber, including music packs and individual songs featuring high-profile artists such as Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Billy Eilish, Metallica, Kendrick Lamar and Sabrina Carpenter. You can’t forget about the various free updates. There are also plenty of PC VR mods you can dive into.

Beat Saber Review 2022: Original VR titles remain relevant as ever

With regular updates, DLC releases and game changes since launch, Beat Saber remains a child of VR posters. Read the updated Beat Saber Review for Quest 2, PSVR, and PC VR. Long-standing domination makes it difficult to withhold Saber’s influence on the VR industry.

Blade & Sorcery

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kmd07geq1s

Blade & Sorcery was missing from this list for several years, but with its full release in 2024, it regained the spotlight once again after nearly six years in early access. With fully physics-driven melee combat and built-in mod support, the PC VR medieval fantasy is planned for further updates as the studio begins to work on the next game.

If you haven’t played since the early access date, Warpforg’s early hits feel better than ever, thanks to the Crystal Hunt Campaign Mode, which features original biomes and loot collections. This new system of progression provides you with what you need to work on while maintaining its sandbox spirit, gradually becoming more powerful through new magical skills.

Blade & Sorcery Review: Still one of the best fighting games in VR

Blade & Sorcery was recently released in full after nearly six years, but is one of the better combat games in VR.

fracture

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eugfwhklz2i

Of all physics-driven VR combat and puzzle games, Boneworks remains one of the most refined and impressive. The single-player campaign offers plenty of fun sandboxes to experiment, whether you’re swinging a robot head club around with your feet or pounding heartless zombies with your broom handles.

Alternatively, you can rely on classics to find a fatally accurate shooter. Boneworks is a great PC VR game, giving you a glimpse into where the future of VR interactive is heading. Zero stress levels continued in 2022 using Bonelab. This is also available on PC VR.

Boneworks Review: A stunning showcase of physical interactions testing VR limitations

Boneworks shows you the hands about 10 minutes after the campaign. Introductory tours in the middle – a tutorial created humorously as a history of VR interactions – it drops important advice.

Demeo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tura7jt284g

Demeo is by no means a perfect tabletop game, but it is Really Something good. More importantly, its top-notch 4-player multiplayer VR experience has made it feel like a real social event, with fewer flat screen and VR games. You choose a class to tackle randomly generated dungeons, but the game’s punishment difficulty means that the session lasts from several minutes to multiple hours.

DeMeo is one of the best PC VR games that has only been bettered with post-release updates, including technical updates. The free updates offered new campaigns such as the Rule of Madness, the Curse of the Serpent Lord and more. In 2025, there will be cross-platform multiplayer across all major platforms, and DeMeo Battles is also available if you’re interested in PVP spinoffs.

The eyes of the temple

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5bn9qdy3fy

Teale of the Temple is one of the best examples of a VR first design front and center game, resulting in a room-wide platformer. You begin an Indiana Jones-inspired adventure outside a large temple. With a whip in your right hand and a torch on the left, you will begin to move deeper into the temple, completing puzzles and platform obstacles.

Every movement you make with the eyes of the temple is a real physical movement through your play space. Some clever design tricks mean you will always stay within your boundaries and not exhaust the space to move – like tea for God. With PC VR, if you have a wired headset, you might need a little more cable management, but the game is still a thrill to play and is incredibly well designed. However, fair warning: you need a minimum of 2m x 2m play space.

Today, the Temple Eye appears in the quest. Here is our complete review:

Ghost Town

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lxh7fthlo8

Ghost Town is one of our favorite new VR games ever in 2025, Dark Matter, a strong return in the fireproof game following VR in the room. Set in the 80s, the story focuses on a ghost hunter and an exorcist who became a witch called Edith Penrose.

It’s a great supernatural puzzle, offering totally persuasive mystery, powerful visuals, and intuitive puzzles, never too difficult or too easy. Our only complaint is that we wanted it to last longer, but don’t let it stop you. If you’re a fan of story-driven adventures, we highly recommend checking out Ghost Town. If you want more persuasive, there’s also a free PC VR demo.

Ghost Town Review: A Supernatural VR Adventure Whole Who Gets Enthralled

Ghost Town is a fantastic supernatural puzzle adventure from the VR studio room that you don’t want to miss.

Half Life: Alix

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jym_7b5wm3u

It may not be Technically Half life is 3, but without a doubt, Half life: Valve’s Alyx is a full-size adventure worthy of past releases of the series. He gave him the top mark in 2020 and believes that “it’s right, almost always do his best.” Play as Alyx Vance and fight in a highly refined adventure fully designed for VR via City 17, relying on elements of the Classic Series and showing you plenty of new features.

It features over 10 hours of pure white, AAA-level VR shootouts, puzzles and story designs, featuring some of the best gunfights in the headset, providing truly memorable moments inside. Half-Life: Alyx is definitely the best PC VR game ever and I hope to see more from Valve.

Half Life: Alyx Review – Very refined, surprisingly familiar, sometimes nasty and unwavering VR

A second chance. Not everyone gets it. Still, in Alix, the valve finds itself in those embarrassment. Forget about something “from death” for a minute. You don’t need to tell you that half-life has been away for a very long time. What’s more urgent is

Kayak VR: Mirage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7EOWTJSHQG

Kayak VR is a quiet highlight of this list, offering stunning visual presentations and a relaxing experience in four locations: Papagayo, Antarctica, Bjornoya and Australia. There is a competitive multiplayer mode, but where the game shines, it’s free roaming, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the view.

While it may not have a large selection of full-scale campaigns or game modes, Kayak VR is one of the most relaxed VR experiences available on the platform, and can be viewed from all angles. This was improved by simply adding two new environments for Socha Valley and Yucatan DLC, and a real-time multiplayer update has also been introduced.

Kayak VR: MiragePS VR2 Review – A calm waters

Following last year’s PC VR release, Kayak VR: Mirage has arrived on PlayStation VR2.

Lonely Echo + Lonely Echo 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jgjj2omgva

Packed with powerful production values, 2017’s Lonely Echo offers a “winning blend of intuitive movements, discovery-based gameplay, and character-driven storytelling,” and uses zero-gravity traversal and thoughtful character interactions to provide an engaging campaign. Although it’s slow at a pace, focusing on building links between the character and the people around him pays off as much as all of its enormous sights.

Dawn At Ready went further with Lone Echo 2, with the original game producing Echo VR, a standalone multiplayer spinoff game. Sadly, it closed in August 2023 and the studio itself continued a year later. The single-player experience remains untouched and forms two best PC VR games in Rift.

  • The Lonely Echo 2 Platform:lift

Lonely Echo Review: A New Type of Space Odyssey

Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and HG Wells were able to dream of the words they imagined when they began writing science fiction classics in pen. Some of them will come back to life in our television screens and cinemas in the next few decades, but the future they portray is still far away

Moss & Moss: Book 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt2q4-ub5ei

Moss and Moss: Book 2 is a separate game, but I’ve included them as one entry in this list. Book 2 picks up the story at the moment at the end of Book 1. Moss has helped prove that third-person VR experiences can create the absolute best content on the platform. You guide an adorable little mouse named Quill at a diorama-sized level, solve puzzles and take on the scary creatures in sword-based combat.

Although mechanically refined, Moss’s true claim to fame is the bond he built with Quill over the course of his adventures. Play as a bigger mate of a small hero and when you work together to overcome obstacles, you really start to connect with her. It’s very similar to the effort of a team, but it’s a very surprising feeling in itself.

Although Book 2 is technically a more powerful and long sequel, it feels like a continuation of the same journey rather than a completely fresh adventure. That being said, new mechanics will be added to innovate in the original combat, providing a wider environment. The Moss series is not something you’ll miss, and entry-level glass breakers like MOBA will continue later this year.

Moss Review: Quill is a small mouse that can be used

Check out the Rift and Vive update: Fortunately, the PC port on Moss is just as great as when I found out it was coming. The upgraded visual clarity is particularly noticeable in the environment itself.

There’s no man’s sky

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhzlz1mw0ae

With its rocky launch in 2016, Man’s Sky is notorious for its rocky launch. Since then, the game has received support for VR and plenty of updates, turning it into a vast survival space simulator. Also, various updates have overhauled many of the VR mechanics, adding new ways of interacting and immersive menus, and post-release updates have not stopped.

Recent updates have even enhanced image quality, performance and rendering. As a result, the game is better than ever. If you want to explore an infinite infinite universe in VR, look no further. Man’s Sky is not a perfect fit. It is impossible to deny the sky of those on the best PC VR game list.

Man’s Sky PS VR2 No Review: Jump to Hyper Speed

There’s no Man’s Sky added PS VR2 support to match the headset launch last month, but how does the game hold up?

onwards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zsrkasmz9e

If Pavlov is the VR answer to Counter-Strike, you can add it to the Shooter genre, focusing on hyperrealism that has approached things like Arma and paved the way for mechanical complexity. Almost nine years in early access, it was finally fully released in 2025 after the release of the 2.0 major in 2025.

However, the journey ended after Meta merged staff into Camouflaj (Batman: Arkham Shadow) three months after the 2.0 update, and after Meta closed the heavy rain interactive. The server remains online, but there is no developer support beyond any important bug fixes. It’s a huge shame as I still have some of the best basic VR mechanics I’ve seen in a VR shooter game.

Currently, onward update 2.0 is on sale, with all weapons overhauled.

Onward Update 2.0 is currently on sale, bringing you a graphical overhaul of all weapons and items, new weapons, remastered classic maps, new maps and more.

Pavlov Vr

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=103ur29kwes

Valve won’t bring counter strikes to VR anytime soon, but fortunately, Pavlov VR has a valuable alternative. Consistently developed over the years, Pavlov has become a fast-paced, competitive shooter, with many weapons and environments added at a dizzy pace, and new game modes added.

Like Onward and Blade & Sorcery, Pavlov spent years in early access before receiving a full release, and features cross-platform multiplayer with the PlayStation VR2 version. For multiplayer fans, it is one of the better PC VR shooter games today and still receives occasional updates.

Pavlov VR Review – Straight Shooter for PSVR 2

Pavlov is a solid VR multiplayer shooter game that thrives with tactile interaction and gunfire.

Pistol whip

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiv71tqcgpy

The rhythm game is a dozen dozen in VR, but for our money, Cloudhead Games’ Pistol Whip is the most original and overall best. One of VR’s longest-running and well-established games on all platforms, this is a beautiful intersection between rhythm games, super hot-like action, and matrix-style cinema talent.

Move along the on-rail scene as enemies jump on the pump’s soundtrack. Your job is to do so in time for the beat of the music, not just when the enemy is approaching. This is a great concept that has been expanding for many years with numerous free content updates, making it comfortable for the list of the best PC VR games.

Pistol Whip 2023 Review: More than ever

Pistol Whip has only grown since its release in 2019. 2023Pistol Whip Review covers everything that has been added to the game since its launch.

Star Wars: Squadron

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md54rgbn6zi

We still can’t believe in Star Wars completely. The Sentai was a thing. A full Star Wars flight action game with both a single player campaign and a huge multiplayer component… in VR? Are you sure we don’t dream?

Well, if we don’t want to wake up. Squadrons’ highly immersive cockpit and fierce space dogfighting make this one of the best PC VR games for everything you wanted from VR in the first place.

Star Wars: Squadrons VR Review – Best Space Battles in the Galaxy

Star Wars: Squadron finally comes here and it will definitely be delivered. From incredible set-piece moments, great new characters, and great VR space combat, this is an adrenaline fuel explosion in a distant galaxy. Here’s our Star Wars: Squadrons VR Review

Stormland

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbp7hmwmuyk

Stormland, Insomniac’s last major VR release before Sony acquired the studio in 2019, is a vast open world action adventure shooter game that supports a two-player cooperative. One of the few AAA games available on PCs was released six months after Rift S alongside the original Oculus Quest with the Oculus link feature.

It’s not a complete victory and there are some issues throughout this campaign, but Stormlands still shine with its smooth combat, high production value and powerful UI interactions. However, don’t wait if you’re interested in grabbing this. Insomniac’s complete VR library continues to remain delisted and relisted from Meta’s PC VR store.

Stormland Review: VR’s Smooth Shooter is still (but not without issues)

Full of features, boasting endless hours of play and unparalleled in visual Polish, Stormland is the VR shooter game you can find now. It’s a burgeoning game where you slide straight over the head of a competition before slipping into the slipstream and leaving them

Superhot VR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzg7wc6mbwe

Stop rankings of Super Hot VR on the best PC VR games list when playing shooters like this intricately designed. It maintains an immersive feeling and uses your whole body in ways that the flat screen version could not. The “Movement of Time as You Move” mechanic remains incredibly entertaining to this day, and the game balances the perfect balance between slapstick action and stylish stunts.

‘Superhot VR’ review: Bullets that squeal time

As I sit here and type these words, my eyes are glassed. My mind is still in the metaverse, so I have a hard time focusing. In most VR games, you have a presence that makes you feel like you’re really there, but that’s not enough

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt1httl_znc

Skyrim VR successfully ported the entire RPG to a headset with full motion control. It’s not the most detailed implementation, but that fact alone makes it something you don’t want to miss in VR.

In addition to giving you a keen sense of adventure, there are some snippets of Skyrim that work very well in VR. It includes the moments when you first encounter a dragon or acquire a hard-working sword with tireless details. There are better, more native VR games, but Skyrim VR is Skyrim… In VR, it’s worth watching.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (Rift and Vive) Review – Become a Dragonborn

Editor’s Note: This is a review of the PC VR versions of the game (for Rift, Vive, and Windows VR headsets). So if you’re looking for a review focused on the PSVR version, you can find it here. The two games are different enough to guarantee

Gallery – Episodes 1 and 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiy7mm3jnx8

It groups the first two installments of Cloudhead Games’ fascinating adventure series together. Because the first episode is on the short side, and the two cost about the same as a regular VR game.

The gallery has its roots in dark Henson fantasies, bringing you to an incredible world of impossible landscapes and crazy characters in your sister’s hunt. The imaginative design, despite these ages, is part of these best PC VR games. I hope that one day Cloudhead will make episode 3.

Gallery – Calling Starseed Review: A Reverent Mystery

After playing the game for a while and criticizing, I start to get a little tired. To the surprising fact that developers begin to recognize many of the small ratios and tricks they use to try to catch the audience. A twist, the good guy turns badly and plots the whole thing

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qczleqqcoye

Saints & Sinners from The Walking Dead: Skydance Interactive are essential for PC VR and provide some of the best design and user interactions available in VR. Released in 2020, “It’s a zombie apocalypse in your grasp. A live, breathing virtual doom, with player-driven heights that easily cover experimental lows.” Set the bars in VR zombie games using Boneworks-style physics-based combat.

In this game you will wrestling with horde of undead and stuff the action into a fully meaty VR campaign that treks through New Orleans’ bodies. Adding side missions and zombie killing ability with spoons, there is one of the deepest native VR games on the market. Although it was not well received, the Saints and the Sinners later got a sequel in Chapter 2: Retribution.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Thinner Review – The Best Zombie Apocalypse to date (Updated 2021)

There were two major updates under that belt, so there was no more time to enter the Walking Dead: the Saints and the Sinners. Read The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Review in 2021! Note: This is the latest review based on The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.

The weak

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ukwmklpkg4

Hamsa’s VR Mech Brawler Roguelike made a huge impact last year, winning the best PC VR game of 2024. The weak It is a physics-based brawler that uses arm-based movement and comic book-style presentations. This 22nd century underground Roguelike Fighter sets a new benchmark for the VR Arena Combat.

Between stylish visuals, dirty soundscapes and unique characters, the underdog feels fresh and exciting. There have been many further updates since release, such as “Sandboxxer” using the Level Editor, but the recent “Rampage” mode has added an infinite endurance mode. Next up on the list is the multiplayer mode, with further updates.

Dizziness 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2emjhn4h3ms

The Vertigo 2 is one of the best PC VR-only experiences available and is a masterclass in captivating VR first game design. What’s even more impressive is that it is largely put together by one solo developer, Zach Tsiakalis-Brown of Zulubo Productions. I pay tribute to Valve Classics and Synical VR releases, but I won’t be a victim of copying them.

Instead, you forget to create an impressive solo game experience on the same vein as Half Life: Alyx offers a powerful sequel to the Vertigo remaster. Featuring tactile weapons, creative enemies and a fascinating story-driven campaign, this is a shining example of what PC VR still offers. Two years later, the Into the Aether expansion brought strong conclusions to the series.

Vertigo 2 Review: A Creative and engaging Steam VR Experience

Vertigo 2 always delivers a creative and undeniably engaging PC VR experience.
