Resident Evil Requiem Trailer Analysis – What is Going On?

aAnother showcase hosted by Nother Month, another Geoff Keighley, felt like a show rather than a significant event. Gamescom opened its evening live show and launched a four-day fair, but that doesn’t mean there were no pretty big announcements or trailers. From above my head, The legendary ghost of Yotei, Silent Hill F, Ninja Gaiden 4and of course, Hollow Knight: Silkson I made some of my biggest impressions. Then there Resident Evil Requiem, This felt like a smaller reveal.

The “exclusive new look” that Keighley hyped it was an explosion from the past. It starts with her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, and comes back from an unsuspecting day of work (which indicates that she himself does not have a small amount of frustration). The latter type like her computer, and not only asks her mother’s hand, but also does not etch words that separate it when asked to sleep. But then the phone rings and asks about “Mr. Ashcroft” – not the wife, but in itself, interesting.

Grace responds with a simple “Yes?” Before the caller hangs up. She then brings the news to Alyssa. Alyssa already looks out the window in the rain, screaming “They are coming.” At that point, it becomes clear – this is more than just a reflection of the moment between a mother and daughter. It’s a hotel in Lenwood, an event that Grace left a traumatic traumatized on the night Alyssa was murdered.

After the power outage, the two leave the room by grace, saying they don’t have time to explain while pulling out their guns. They encounter a building manager downstairs, following a short jump (during which the player controls the grace). A hooded man jumps out from behind and kills him. There are signs of blood leaking from their eyes, bloody teeth, infection or something else being taken over. Above all, a calculated, calm way to kill your manager.

One thing that strikes me about this scene we’ve seen before is why put a plastic bag over his head and quickly cut his throat open? Certainly he could have made it, but who else would he have called out to? Perhaps another guest at the hotel, but the murderer may not have wanted him to make the noise that marks the latter location.

We cut to the two of us entering the room as Alyssa helps to calm her daughter’s breathing. Grace tells her how scared she is and that they left her things behind. Despite Alyssa saying she could come back later, Grace walks towards the exit and spins, but appears suddenly only for the familiar silhouette knife that has belonged to the perpetrator for some time. Alyssa’s fate remains unknown, but judging by Grace’s representation, this is her murder moment.

But before this, Alyssa promises to grace to explain “all of this” to “one of the recent ones”, adding, “Know that you are my hope” and “I will never forget.” They trade “I love you” before Alyssa’s supposed end.

yes. Some gaps seem to be meant to be filled out by impressions and additional footage. This says leak aestheticians are planning on soon. However, even if you see more gameplay from this particular flashback, you may not provide all the answers. Aestheticgamer claims this isn’t the time for the beginning, it’s a lot of what we saw Requiem It starts from “almost the first 30-45 minutes.” They compared it to Ethan’s house from the beginning. Resident Evil Village And then there is a forest trail leading to the actual village (with a few bits of location thrown in). Simply put, this is a very small part of the overall experience I’ve had so far.

Still, there are some solid theories. Alyssa messes with her bag before leaving the room, perhaps to remove the handgun from there. Grace gets odd about not having hers. And most importantly, an anonymous phone checking the location of Ashcrofts points to a sign that everything is running. Perhaps Alyssa arranged this as a kind of business trip. But really, that’s because whatever she sees, something or someone is behind Alyssa.

Perhaps the biggest question that has lasted since the first trailer was revealed: how did Grace survive? There will be no problem with her mother catching up with her (and perhaps not even alone). Did they intentionally let her go? Or is there anything about the grace that guarantees her to stay alive? Is it possible that someone intervened on her behalf to save her? Rumors show that Grace’s blood is important.

Alyssa’s investigation reveals something about grace and is she on the run to protect her? After all, if Alyssa is following them, why not make the grace safe somewhere? You’ll think the former is connected enough to do so, but even so, perhaps the seriousness of her discovery means that she can’t trust anyone. Perhaps the reason she doesn’t say anything about grace is that she is waiting for something or someone.

Outside of the trauma of watching her mother be murdered in front of her, this trailer feeds the theme of light and darkness. Grace has some sort of attack, for a few reasons, but stress, asthma, panic, all three are combined, and perhaps being in the dark will cause that. Her hardships are clear that she could reconcile with the entire incident and blame herself.

If she didn’t pick up the phone, would her mother live there, did that make sure Ashcroft was talking? Perhaps what if she didn’t do much about her wanting her own? Her goal to join the FBI was to discover who killed Alyssa (and thus became her mother’s wish). But the memory of the murder is undoubtedly a serious mental block she needs to overcome, especially if today’s huge stalker identity is true.

Of course, more is theorized, such as how this incident connects to Raccoon City. This is said to be all tied to an umbrella – and somehow, it always seems – is another big question. There’s a sense that all the key players in the Raccoon City incident (and their descendants) are being brought back to where it all began. There’s still not much to be seen in the end, but I’m as curious as where we can go from here as the developers seem to end the long-term saga in the end.

Resident Evil Requiem It was released for the Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC on February 27, 2026, and even with all the rumours, theories and trailers, it doesn’t feel like it’s scratching the surface of what’s going on. And I look forward to seeing first hand witness how all of this actually bonds.
