If you’re overwhelmed by the countless settings available in Battlefield 6, take the guessing game, Best Battlefield 6 settings To maximize frame rate. The open beta has been extremely popular with players so far, surpassing the highest number of players ever in Call of Duty. The second open beta window is currently live, offering you a last chance to play the game before its release later this year.

The Battlefield 6 system requirements aren’t too intimidating, but gamers with older PCs and laptops may ultimately need to invest in some upgrades. However, unless you want to play in 4K with a high graphical setting, don’t worry as you don’t need one of the best graphics card picks from a helpful buying guide to get proper performance in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 is highly playable in all resolutions, with tests being made in live PVP matches. Naturally, if you’re aiming to play in 4K, you’re facing the reality that you’ll have to upgrade your graphics card, as tinkering with individual graphics settings or applying aggressive upscaling is not an effective workaround.

These technologies have chosen to avoid upscaling and frame generation technologies, as they can introduce image ghosts and input lags.

Battlefield 6 is not a game like a game that takes time to stop roses and smell them, especially when playing online. So when it comes to graphics settings, we prioritize clear, high quality textures and environments, but take a step forward in lighting, shadows and reflections.

HUD settings

Many of the HUD settings are preferred, but it’s worth messing around with them as you can see that the default settings aren’t ideal for you. We found this to be true for some of the sizing and opacity of various HUD elements.

Battlefield 6 Accessibility Settings

Battlefield 6 has comprehensive accessibility settings, including expected menu narration, subtitles, and color brand options. However, the game also offers tinnitus settings, motion blur, camera movement settings, and a wealth of toggle vs hold options.

It’s worth checking out some of the toggle and hold options as they can affect those who choose to use them. This includes revival skip, stable range, weapon zoom, and revive requests. All of these retain input by default.

Also, the accessibility settings include various tutorials. This can be turned off if you don’t want to deal with pop-ups frequently. For controller players, vibration strength can be adjusted using a slider or a pre-determined profile. Finally, there is also a text-to-chat option.

Battlefield 6 Graphic Preset

Battlefield 6 has four total presets: Low, Medium, High and Ultra. Thanks to the VRAM calculator in the graphics menu, you can get a detailed look at the amount of memory you need, as well as breaking down each setting into CPU, GPU, or VRAM resource usage or low usage to see exactly how much VRAM is needed for each preset.

VRAM is required
low4.5GB
Medium6.4GB
expensive7GB
Ultra7GB

In the image below, you can see that there is a big difference between low graphics presets and ultra graphics presets. The lighting is much more natural, with the reflections the distant details are much more crisp, and the details are much more clear in the ultra preset to make the firing range much more clear. You can right-click on the comparison image below and open it in a new tab to see the full size image in detail.

The best battlefield 6 settings for steam decks

Battlefield 6 does not run natively on the steam deck as it includes Javalin Anti-Cheat systems that are not compatible with Linux operating systems.

This was discovered in a Battlefield 6 interview with Dev team Vince Zampella and Byron Breede. In fact, Zampella generally stated that handheld platforms “probably not the best way to play the game.”

Even when creating a Windows partition on a steam deck because Javelin Anti-Cheat requires safe boots, Battlefield 6 still won’t work as options are not available in the Steam Deck BIOS. There was a way around this system, which is reported to work with Valorant, but gamers still didn’t have such luck in Battlefield 6.

Our best hope is to see if Battlefield 6 will land on cloud streaming services such as Nvidia Geforce Now.

How did you test Battlefield 6?

uses a dedicated gaming rig to test the best settings for performance and gameplay with the latest release. The test rig used to play Battlefield 6 includes the following components: IntelCoreI7-11700F, Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 12GB, 32GB DDR4 3,200MHz RAM, and MSI B560 motherboard. Also test using Windows 11 64bit.

First run the test at 1,920 x 1,080 to identify the best setting for this entry-level resolution, then again at 2,560 x 1,440 to measure performance differences using the same setup. Finally, we’ll also test it out on 4K. CapFramex is used to capture frame data and compare test sessions.

Do Battlefield 6 need an SSD?

Battlefield 6 does not require the use of an SSD, but developers recommend using it if they are targeting the recommended specifications. This means you can download and launch the game from a traditional hard drive, but if you want to get the fastest game load time, we recommend upgrading to an SSD.

If you’re interested in upgrading from an old-fashioned mechanical drive, or if you want extra storage space, you can find current SSD recommendations in the Best Game SSD Guide.

How to monitor Battlefield 6 performance

If you want to focus on your performance on Battlefield 6, there’s a simple way to do it, whether you’re using an NVIDIA card or an AMD graphics card.

For NVIDIA cards, install the NVIDIA app and make sure you have enabled in-game overlays, then press ALT + R to view the performance monitor in-game. With an AMD card, you can enable performance monitoring via the Radeon overlay using the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+O.

Alternatively, you can download free software like CapFramex or Nvidia Frameview to get a cleaner, more simplified benchmarking tool that works with any graphics card.

With a handheld gaming PC, there is a dedicated button for accessing a quick menu that can be accessed by performance monitoring, known as real-time monitoring.
