What is the best cooperative game? The game offers magic in a variety of outfits, but working with friends to achieve your goals is definitely a place to shine. So, what titles do you want to bring together friends and offer the best cooperative group-based thrills?
The great thing about the best PC games, including co-op, is that they are not limited to genres. As long as there is room for two controllers on the split screen or you have fully tuned play on the headset, you can cooperate among the best sandbox games, relaxed games, or horror games. These are some of the best cooperative games to share with your favorite people.
Here are the best cooperative games of 2025:
Borderland 4
Borderlands 4 is the return to Gearbox software’s form, doubleping everything that made the series popular from the start. It features four different Borderlands 4 classes that can be customized in a variety of ways thanks to the vast skill tree provided. It’s a joy to explore a vast open world map filled with lots of missions to ensure you and your group do something at all times.
The writing is far better than Borderlands 3, and introduces a timekeeper who is disappointing and very frankly compared to Calypso twins, who is quickly known for his existence. Most importantly, gameplay has never been better thanks to the movement and improved gun power that makes this the best entry in the long-term series. If you’re heading into the world of Kairos, be sure to check out the Borderlands 4 Shift Code Guide to redeem your free in-game rewards.
peak
Having sold over 2 million copies in just a few weeks, Peak has long established itself as one of the best indie games. Peak premise may sound bleak, but cute co-op games are nothing. A group of natural scouts are left behind on the island after the planes drop, forcing them to expand the mountainous areas and send out signals to help. Along the way, they have to forage and utilize suitcases filled with random items.
The island you travel to change every day will make every journey unique when grouping up to three friends on this painstaking journey. The adorable art direction of the game and the use of proximity chat experts will be memorable moments, especially when you stumble over items such as the Peak’s cursed skull or fairy lanterns that can completely change your expedition.
Eldenling Night Leg
Nightreign condenses the entire Elden Ring Experience into a 45-minute run, bringing you and your party (up to three players) on an adventure that targets one of Nightreign’s bosses. All the runs are divided into three days, and once every day is over, powerful enemies await you. In running, you run quickly to get as many leveling as possible, gathering items and weapons in the hopes of killing each of the seven night roads.
This is a fast-paced cooperative game, allowing players to reward their speedy and clever plans. So it’s not the easiest game to recommend to all Eldenling fans, as it’s a very different experience than RPG games. Read Nat’s Elden Ring Nightreign Review and learn why this cooperative game is so divided among communities like Souls.
Schedule 1
There’s not much more appealing than being your own boss. It’s even better when you can do it with your loved one. Take you from the humble beginnings of your home to establish a thriving business with 3 friends on Schedule 1 and rent multiple buildings on Schedule 1 map.
The key to surviving your dreams is to make schedule 1 money faster by using mixed recipes to create the best on the market. When you’re working with friends, you can further optimize by always supplying stable products on hand to ensure that your customers are always happy.
Divided fiction
Co-op Game expert Haselight Studios expanded his outstanding portfolio with Split Fiction, taking players on a journey through the work of science fiction and fantasy writers Mio and Zoe. Your journey begins to give the pair the opportunity to experience their work through the publisher’s future technology power, but things go well once Mio ends up creating Zoe. This leads to a head clash, as these two very different writers are forced to cooperate in stopping publishers from stealing their ideas.
As our review of split fiction highlights, this could still be Hazelight Studios’ best game, blending multiple genres with unique settings to create an unforgettable cooperative experience.
Monster Hunter Wild
The latest and undoubtedly the biggest article in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wiles “improves almost every aspect of the world and offers a tremendous adventure,” according to Ken’s Shining 9/10 Monster Hunter Wild Review. He was so impressed with Capcom’s bestsellers that he even considers it to be the “most rewarding action RPG” if he can navigate that steep learning curve.
Monster Hunter Wilds comes with a tweaked cooperative system aimed at making it easier for you and your companions to hunt together.
Remnant 2
Remnant 2 is a third-person shooter game that incorporates the best Roguelike and Soulslike game mechanics to bring you a challenge wrapped in the impulse of “another run” urge. The original multiverse sends players on a trip through fantastic realms where players echo Echo Bloodborne and HR Geiger, alongside the original worlds that players remember from Remnant: The Ashes.
You can embark on this journey alone, but bringing one or two companions with you is an unparalleled experience. Plunder, shoot and create your best builds to defeat powerful bosses together. Our review of Remnant 2 is called “a compelling patchwork of mechanics that are completely different from the rest,” warning that “people looking for a leisurely, arcade-style shooter could be shorter with Arcade-style shooters, similar to Borderlands.” The shootout game also includes plenty of post-release support, including a series of DLCs packed with new locations, weapons and more.
I died in the daytime
Perhaps the most popular and well-known asymmetric horror multiplayer game, Dead By Daylight has gone from strength to strength over the past eight years. You may complain from either Killer Main or Survivor Main, but DBD remains popular, with tens of thousands of players entering the fog every day.
Of course, there are both daytime co-op and PVP aspects depending on which team you choose, but if you’re looking for a co-op play, there’s far less life and death than as a DBD survivor.
Whether you’re playing with friends or being a stranger, going outside is only possible when you work together. Five generators need to be fixed, one of the two doors needs to be opened, and there’s no way you’re doing it on your own. Look at the HUD on the left side of the screen to see what everyone else is doing, whether they’re moving the killer away from the tail, working hard for purpose, or communicating via voice chat. Sadly, there are no in-game voice chats for strangers online, but I think those solo queue games have fun (even if they’re not frustrated).
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
In the past, I played a lot of Warhammer 40K games that lacked the elements that took the game to another level. Well, Space Marine 2 has finally unlocked the possibilities of the series, leading to a great third-person shooter. Step into Li’s big shoes during Demetrian Titus, you are tasked with destroying the herds of tyranids that are currently plaguing the galaxy.
Space Marine is often compared to the Gears of War series, but it’s fair to say that the series has gone in a different direction to elevate the third-person shooter genre. You can choose weapons for Space Marine 2 weapons, but there are six classes with all unique abilities, offering you the freedom to customize the aspects of Space Marine to suit your play style. Grab two friends, walk through the campaign and take them from planet to planet as they wipe out the deadly Tyranid waves.
They are chained together
Chained Together is the latest virus co-op game to take over social platforms like Tiktok and Twitch, and it’s not hard to see why. You and your cooperative partners are in the hellish gut, a surreal territory filled with boiling lava and deadly traps. That’s not all. As the name of the indie game suggests, you are chained together, forcing you to cross the platform with careful planning and coordination in hellish prison breaks that test your friendship to the limits.
Although they can be played together, the single-player experience doesn’t match the perfect blend of joy and anger that comes with trying to fight the reflexes of Janky Physics and cooperative partners. It also includes local and remote play, allowing you to have a glorious night of arguing on the couch with your siblings, parents or housemates. If you’re enjoying “Rage Bait,” which goes through the physics-based “Rage Bait,” chaining together is a cooperative game for you.
The ritual will happen
Zombie Killing fans may know Maid of Sker, the developer behind the Survival Horror game, the latest wave-based shooter from Sker Ritual, Wales Interactive. Sker’s rituals increase strength, introduce the elements of the cooperative, and give them the opportunity to bring in three other players when they take on the horrifying waves of quiet things.
Sker Ritual is captivating Old School Call of Duty Zombie fans for its map filled with Easter eggs. It offers fun weapons and abilities that you can use to wipe out horde of enemies. Sker Ritual 1.0 finally launched in 2024, clearing up the bug that beat the last few remaining games, adding more chapters to the game’s story.
Lightyear Frontier
Everyone loves cozy farming games, but Frame Break, developer of Lightyear Frontier, has found a way to improve its classic formula by adding Mechs. That’s right, you and up to three friends can climb a multipurpose mech as you explore an alien world filled with unique crops, animals and mysteries. Mechs is known in some games for its destructive abilities, but Lightyear Frontier has no combat at all. You don’t have to worry about joining the fight.
All you need to worry about is common farming chores, finding light frontier wood, or finding kaloo oil to unleash special mecha upgrades. Lightyear Frontier reminds us that video games don’t have to be about violence all the time. They are about fun farming adventures with your friends.
Helldivers 2
One of the more surprising hits of 2024 is the dramatically different sequel to Heldivar, originally a twin-stick shooter. Arrowhead Game Studios won a gold medal in Helldivers 2 by going for a third-person shooter approach. You and your friends must cooperate as the Galaxy’s final line of defense against increasingly furious alien monsters. By switching Helldivers frequently, you can access new Stratagems and other tools to do some short work on these Arachnid scums.
That being said, it can be very difficult to log in as Helldivers 2 servers regularly face problems. However, this ridiculously fun shooter is worth the wait, especially as it has a very high chance of being a multiplayer game, thanks to its drop-in, drop-out coop mechanics. New recruits should head to a briefing on how to unlock the best Helldivers 2 Stratagems, the Best Helldivers 2 Farms, and the best Helldivers 2 weapons for weapons so they can win XP and medals.
A fatal company
Join your team on the mission of making quick cash for the mystery “company.” All you need to do is land on a random planet, get some scraps and exchange it for some cash. It sounds easy, right? Well, on every planet, there are some of the most horrifying and deadly company monsters you’ve ever seen, and you can wipe you out within seconds of seeing them. Luckily, there’s a bit of teamwork and coordination with a little help from friends.
What makes this game special is that you have to rely on the in-game communication system, so you have to force the player to hear correctly. You may think you’re doing well, but it only takes a second for your teammate to suddenly stop replying. Once you realize you are yourself, you will need luck back on the boat. Given how cheap the base game is, it’s not surprising to see how popular the fatal company is, breaking many records as the best-selling steam game of November 2023.
It takes two
This glorious cooperative platformer takes the concept of honey that I have reduced my children, and instead reduces the two quarrel parents to the size of a small doll. On the crisis of divorce, they have to discuss in front of their daughters Cody and May, and cooperate to return to their bodies after they become mysteriously small walking toys.
Each area offers something different, from small nooks of the Tool’s shed to garden branches and garden tree alcoves. You will meet quirky characters along the way, including squirrel troops, talking tools, and terrifying bosses that embody old debates between couples.
Love Book is an inspiring guide that pops up in your quest and gives each player tools such as hammers, claws and grapples, and you’ll be forced to hurry up and collaborate to reach new places as you climb and climb this fascinating, hopeful story puzzle. Naturally, all the positive things that require two reviews have become one of the most highly rated games in 2021, so don’t just look at our words.
Diablo 4
The much-anticipated RPG game is finally here, and that’s exactly what fans have been asking for from Blizzard. When you tear and tear your henchmen in hell, there’s nothing better than working with your peers in a cooperative. The paths that remove the paths with 5 Diablo 4 classes (6 if you include a container for hatred expansion) can vary dramatically from player to player. Unlike previous versions of Diablo, players now have access to cross-play to integrate teams, no matter what platform they use. Sadly, Couch Co-op is for users’ consoles only. disappointing.
10/10 Diablo 4 reviews show you can expect to sink within 30-60 hours of working on the main campaign. Diablo 4 beginner guides should be familiar with the game mechanics. You should check out the article on Diablo4Best Builds to discover how to use your skill points.
Portal 2
Valve’s very clever and really entertaining puzzles are frequently cited as the king of cooperatives. And there’s a good reason. Success in Portal 2 requires pure teamwork to solve the challenges, one player will run away and panic everything before the other player has the chance to move the mouse. While microphones and good friends are recommended, Portal 2 has a neat, silent chat system that points to using emo to use collaboration with strangers in puzzle games.
The original portal is correctly announced as one of the greatest games of all time, but there is no denying that this sequel’s dedicated cooperative campaign is also a genius work. Also, Portal 2 is rarely smarter than when throwing puzzles that both players need to work together at the same time. But what’s more than just the amazing noodle scratcher makes Portal 2 co-op a must-see is the addition of the Steam Workshop feature. The range of user-created puzzle chambers is enormous and includes incredibly well-designed challenges that allow Valve’s work to look like a preschool logic toy.
Don’t starve together
A game where you can share moments you never want to talk about again. example? Don’t starve together, you can kill and eat your pig slaves while your chums watch.
Klei’s Burton-esque open world game is still open, with empty pockets this time, but another player or three people can join the same predicament. There are currently two modes in the standalone game. They appear next to fellow survivors and enjoy endless life, or are randomly scattered throughout the map to be eligible for Perma Death.
First, the dead player can float like a ghost and anger the rest of the gang. It’s not the form of speech – good, unforgettable things will lower their sanity and put their lives in even greater danger. Resurrection is easy, prices are part of your biggest health. Strange and unique, don’t starve together. It’s also one of the best survival games on your PC. The segregation of the brilliant original was one of its strengths, but dodging hunger together is simply a better way of life.
Cup head
This devilishly difficult co-op game makes it a little easier when you add a magman to the mix. Well, that’s not entirely true, but at least, when you die repeatedly to a 1930s-style wibbly carnation, it gives you someone to blame someone when it’s as beautifully animated as anxiety.
Playing as a Cuphead of the same name and a magman caught in his clock, you will pass through the top-down overworld, unlocking new areas by breaking levels that are usually made up of boss battles with multiple evolutionary stages. Learning the enemy’s different attack patterns and adjusting parry and attacks is key to victory, but no, let’s face it. when – One of you can ruin and take in too many projectiles, and you can bring their immortal souls back to the land of living – if you can reach them in time before they slide into the afterlife.
Cuphead is famous for its difficulties, but don’t put it off – failing over and over is all part of the charm, and that means you build real hostility towards the grinning cartoon villain you’re facing.
Division 2
Good cooperative action is woven into the fabric of the department from the word Go. As you can read from our The Divison 2 review, everything was pretty good from the words, but it makes sense that the salt-worthy military-influenced game is offered with a theme of friendship and teamwork, so it makes sense that it’s better in multiplayer. Some people bounced back from Ubisoft’s apocalyptic shooter due to a lack of Ubisoft’s endgame content, but Ubisoft gradually expanded the game and increased its strength with many updates. All of that work is present in the Division 2 Washington environment, making it one of the best cooperative games on PC.
Just like the original, you can take them to the battlefield with three companions and defeat the marauders and wildlife gangs. Aside from the story, you can also take your team into the Dark Zone. There you can also go from shoulder to shoulder with other players and reveal it for more booty. There are also great role-play tips. If you want to play a good guy and protect others from being chosen, that’s fine. Do you want to be a big villain who is purging the wounds? It’s doable.
Using Division 2 Exotics to adjust to your ears, you and your buds also have plenty of upcoming content to jump. Division 2 is packed with PVE activities such as Division 2 raids, bases, and story snippets. For PVP fans between us, Skirmish and Dark Zone provide a welcome place to hone your purpose. There is also a massive expansion of New York. This will give you the pleasure of blasting around the Big Apple, boosting level 30.
Destiny 2
If Destiny 2 PC launch was the first introduction to Bungie’s Colossal Console game, then it might have been a bit confusing at first. As you can read in the original Destiny 2 PC review, its paper-thin plot cannot convey interesting threads. There is no huge amount of activity. You can see everything you need to offer in about 30 hours. However, considering the game is instead a social space for your peers, it’s an online game equivalent to a bar where you can shoot aliens, everything is all put together as one of the best cooperative games on PC.
Whether you’re speeding up the surface of the sparrow hoverbike planet, stepping into a cave looking for powerful booty, or taking a PVE strike with a new Destiny 2 nightfall weapon every week, free MMO activities are tailored to do the best job when hanging out with friends.
Combining class skills, mastering the best PVP weapons in Destiny 2 and achieving victory over powerful bosses provides a real sense of accomplishment for fire teams where other games rarely match. With a server reset that offers new booty and challenges every Tuesday, Destiny 2 makes sense as a weekly virtual encounter with gangs, and there’s always something new. Read our Destiny 2 The Final Shape Review and see what you thought about Bungie’s epic finale.
Fortnite
I loved the epic in the past, which abandons the unbearable brown colour scheme. Instead, Fortnite favors the crazy, vibrant style that is now lively by the Unreal Engine 5.
Epic was able to make the game feel fresh by launching regular updates, including map changes, weapons and of course new Fortnite seasons featuring new Fortnite skins. Fortnite is the only game that allows you to group together with Naruto, Kratos, Magneto and Spider-Man to defeat your rivals. If that’s not something we love, we don’t know what to tell you.
Overcooking 2
Without a doubt, Overcooked 2 is the most insane, stressful and fun game on this list. Tasking four players to make food may sound simple, but as anyone who has worked in catering tells you, the kitchen is a demonic workhouse. Once the timer chops, you will need to adjust the chopping of vegetables, deep burgers, stir the soup, and dishwashing. Each level introduces a more diverse menu and increasingly complex dishes.
An incredibly designed set of levels will only add to your challenges. Sometimes your restaurant will break in two by earthquakes. This means that you have to cooperate not only with separate halfs, but with time, so you can pass it to the right side of the kitchen when the opportunity arises. It is this confusion that creates the best moments of Overcooked. Like the best strategy games on PC, this charming chef needs constant thought and communication. Protect your ears as you panic with joy on the path to victory.
Left 4: 2 dead
One of Valve’s true classics, Left 4 Dead 2 focuses on tough teamwork against the backdrop of a very scary zombie outbreak. Thanks to the vast numbers of undead, it is important to stick together and assess the threats on each turn of the campaign’s vast map. Surprising, you need to make sure there are always people ready to save you from a special infectious attack.
At a desperate pace, it’s best to play with a friend with a headset, as you need to be able to replan and warn a friend in seconds. But it’s not impossible to play with strangers. It’s not impossible, especially if they teach you a few tricks. However, make sure you don’t fill in spaces with bots. It has little ability with a gun. If you die, it won’t help you to be resurrected. Spiritual successor Back 4 Blood doesn’t reach the same height and height, so even if you leave a little, the remaining four dead co-ops are still one of the best games.
Minecraft
Minecraft is one of the most popular single-player games of the past decade, but it is also an incredibly fun cooperative game. You may not be able to play Couch Co-op in Minecraft, but knowing how to host a Minecraft server or region will make it easy for you and your friends to dive into the same world. It’s up to you whether you work together to share resources or create your own nearby Minecraft builds.
There is also a fantastic and creative cooperative Minecraft map. Many of them play like Portal 2, requiring both players to work together.
Vermintid 2
Vermintide 2 is a sequel that addresses almost every Qualm you might have had in the original Splat Simulator. Isn’t there enough variations of the enemy? Here are some new boss types and mountains of chaos, which can be hacked, slashed, shot, and burned. Do you need more class-based progression? Currently, all heroes have three specialties in place, effectively tripling the number of sequel classes. Is Vermintide 1 wet and boring? Vermintide 2 Maps are rich, diverse and luxurious.
All this is based on the already perfect chassis of one of the best cooperative games of all time. Four remaining deaths are 2. Swapping a corrupt chaotic force with a rat male is the easy part. Combat may be a simple case of clicking until all pests turn into gore, but you never realize that every weapon feels as good as the unrealistic tournament Flak Cannon. Pop the 3 best companions with you.
Valheim
If you love Viking and Survival games, Valheim is the perfect cooperative game for you and your companions. Explore different biomes and are dropped into Viking Purgatory to fight Valheim bosses, but that’s much more relaxed than it thinks. Valheim searches for materials, slowly builds the base, gains better gear, and slows the pace of progress when fighting enemies along the way.
You can also set up a dedicated Valheim server, allowing you to play online with up to 9 others in PVE. From protecting the base from trolls to tame boars and brewed beer, Valheim has been a beautiful journey and has still received considerable updates, adding new bosses, biomes and items.
Tetris effect is connected
One of our favorite relaxing games, Tetris Effect: Connected is undoubtedly one of the best coop games. A cooled version of the classic block drop game allows you to compete with your peers for victory or score the best score. Even the competitive mode somehow retains the game’s relaxed feel thanks to its gorgeous wallpaper and soothing soundtrack. Forget the tension and intense discussion. Tetris Effect Connected is perfect for a slightly more friendly competition.
Gate 3 of Baldur
Group with three of your peers as you explore the dense world of Baldur’s Gate 3, the latest smash hit from Larian Studios. Whether you’re a custom character like Astalion or Shadow Heart or you’re playing as an Origin hero, there’s a lot to do and discover in Forgotten Areas.
Baldur’s Gate 3 multiplayer has one main limitation. In the game, one player must represent the entire party when making group decisions. Once everyone is gathered, each player is free to explore the world in any way they think they are healthy. All players need to advance with each other at the same time. This should not be a big deal as long as you keep an eye on where your friends are. Check out the Baldur’s Gate 3 reviews to see what you think of Goty in 2023.
Elden Ring
Souls fans understand the pain and joy that comes with each Eldenling boss, but you don’t have to travel alone. All you need to do is summon to your friends and you can give yourself a great advantage over major boss fights. With Erdtree’s Elden Ring Shadow finally here, there is a brand new set of bosses to tear your hair.
However, you can access Elden Ring Mods, so if you’re playing on a PC, you won’t be able to stop enjoying it. Unlike stock games where you can summon friends at certain moments, seamless cooperatives remove this limit entirely and give you the freedom to explore land between multiple people.
Tsushima’s Ghost
Sony’s strategy of bringing consoles to PCs with dedicated games continues to pay off for US computer users. If you think Tsushima’s Ghost is worth picking up for a campaign, then you’re lucky if you’re lucky. The game’s director’s cut version includes the underrated Legends Co-op game mode, a four-player samurai adventure with supernatural elements compared to the grounded main campaign.
Each player has control over a ninja who attempts to defeat the villain entity known as IYO, represented by a large white mask. The Ninja Squad must work together to coordinate attacks and drop smoke bomb-like items at the right time to wipe out groups of enemies in just a few seconds. Read reviews on our excellent Ghost of Tsushima and see what we thought about the latest series from Insomniac Games.
We were here forever
If you’re looking for a cooperative puzzle that depends on seamless teamwork alongside your best, we’re here the game is for you. The latest in the long-running series, we have been here forever. You and your duo were locked up in the monotonous range of Castle Rock. Together, you must follow your path through a beautifully presented series of conundrums to gain your freedom.
You can sit and yap with each other on a call of inconsistency, but we highly recommend taking advantage of the in-game Torque Talky system to fully immerse yourself in the experience. Most puzzles require a constant communication stream as one player searches for solutions for other people’s stumbling. If you’re not fully sold, the originals we were here are free to play and offer you a position as taster for your enjoyment.
Pummel Party
The ultimate test of dexterity, wit and your friendship, Pummel Party is the perfect co-party game if you have the bones to choose with your buddy, or if you want to launch them into Abyss (the game of course). This board game-based experience incorporates a number of amazing mini-games that up to four people can enjoy locally at the same time when played online. Fun and fun like the devilishly fun of Pummel Party, and you all need to be prepared to lose time in your life.
Esoteric 2
If your local co-op is hoping to play with your partner, sibling, best friend, or child, Unravel 2 is the perfect choice. Splendid and inspiring, with communication and teamwork requirements, Unravel 2 makes it easy to share two best 2-player game crowns.
As a small creature made of thread, you and your partner are connected by thread. This not only keeps you connected, but your thread is essential to passing on many of the obstacles in the game. The best Unravel 2 in your local cooperative can be played on Steam Deck, but you can also use Steam remote play together to bridge the gap between yourself and your distant friends.
These are our picks of the best cooperative games. 2025 has been graced some of the best PC games in memory these days. This makes waiting times a little easier, embrace the sense of camaraderie and pair you with your peers for the cooperative treats mentioned above. However, remember this. When solving complex robotic puzzles or shooting a bunch of rat males, the team really doesn’t have a “me.” If you have enough teamwork for now, why not try one of the best social deduction games? play Would you like to cooperate?
