Hollow Night Silk Song Walkthrough: Part 33 (cradle)

Hollow Knight: How do you defeat the final boss of Act 2 in Silksong? The battle between the two bosses is only between the final credits of Hollow Knight: Silksong, but don’t worry. As long as you do preparatory work between the two bosses, there will be an additional hidden act 3 that follows.

Cradle Walkthrough Steps:

1. Play Threefold Melody at Cogwork Dancers Arena.
2. Defeat the race.
3. You will arrive at the Terminus Ventrica Station.

1. Play Threefold Melody at Cogwork Dancers Arena.

I highly recommend going to the bench just below the Cogwork Dancers Arena (passing through the doorway on the left) before playing the triple melody. This will give you the shortest possible runback if you die in a boss battle waiting for you at the top of the elevator.

Once you’ve rested and equipped with all your favorite bosses, stand in the center of the dancer’s arena and listen again to the three melody requests. When prompted, play Needling to unlock the elevator.

Breathe deeply, step in and rise into the cradle.

2. Defeat the race.

At the top is a beautiful landscape of white flowers waiting for you, and among the flowers it is lace that slept. Play when a simple cutscene rises for the first time. There, the boss battle begins soon after the Hornet and Race meet again.

Both sides of this arena are blocked by steam. Add this race’s fast charging attack and how she cuts the space between you while she attacks. This boss battle is a long test of positioning and situational awareness.

To begin with, Race may remember her from the deep dock fight. Her combo is closed at high speed and far, and she can follow up very quickly by scratching and punishing one of the attacks you To try to punish she.

The new trick in the race is that she has a certain air counterattack against your pogo attack. There, she teleports into the air and attacks you at an angle. It’s surprising at first, but I found this to be in fact very easy to predict and avoid.

Both SharpDart and Flintblade are great for dealing big burst damage to the race in a short amount of time. Otherwise, it’s a matter of catching up to her countless attacks. In her second stage, she begins to further limit your space by leaving behind an effective explosion behind her as she runs through the air. And in phase 3 she employs the old phantom trick of roughly slashing in a pre-defined circle of light.

Of these two additional attacks, the first is the most dangerous. It’s hard to see it coming, and it essentially grounds you, forces you to play with very confidently, and is pushed right under the bubbles of light to avoid a downward charging of the race, then stays close to her to punish her.

Of course, it’s a difficult battle – as expected. In fact, I think it’s far more tough in the two battles you face in the cradle. But keep it up, learn her attack patterns both inside and outside, and focus on tons of burst damage while keeping herself far and safe. You will beat her soon.

After the fight, talk to Race for a final lighting dialogue about the nature of the race before she finally falls. You can then collect the three silk heart finals of Silkung to increase the speed of silk regeneration.

3. Arrived at the terminal bench station.

After awakening from the dream world, take the new exit on the right and head towards the shaft over there. Climb to the first exit on the right and pull the lever to enter the Terminus Bench Lica Station! Yes, it’s been here forever and you don’t even have to pay to unleash it. Please rest on the bench on the right.

While you’re here, go left of the strange little pressure plate in front of the unused brain waves and make some jumps and downward attacks until it breaks. Follow the path to the left (take care, there is a steam vent right after the lever), and it will take you to the Silker – you can always collect your silk before the battle, so it’s not that you really need them for the final battle.

Return to the shaft on the left side of the Ventrica station and climb to the top exit. You can pass through the next room, climb to the shelf on the top left and pay 70 rosaries on the cradle map.

Apart from this, there is a lower room filled with lore, with some fragile walls on the right that return to the bench licer shaft. Take your time exploring these. But don’t rise to the top of the cradle yet.

4. Talk to the caretaker.

When you’re ready, take a quick trip from the terminal to the first shrine and talk to the caretaker of Songclave. An interesting and very important dialogue here leads to the offer of a new quest: Silk and the Soul. This quest will need to be completed to reach Act 3, so please focus on the whole for now.

5. Complete the wishes of silk and soul.

There are several parts to Silk and Soul’s wishes, but thankfully, if you follow this walkthrough, you’ve already done a lot of them. We need to gather three souls: the maiden soul, the hermit soul, and the seeker soul. You will also need to acquire a snare setter from Weavenest Atla. Our walkthrough already covers the acquisition of the Snare Setter and Seeker’s soul (defeating Great of Bilewater).

Therefore, in the case of the remaining two souls, you simply need to talk to other members of the caretaker’s secret family.

• Bellbymitt of Belbaines under Bell Heart.
• A chapel maid at the top of Moss’ Cave.

Speaking to both, they give you their soul so that you and the caretaker can simply destroy her and capture the monarch of Falloom instead of (unfortunately) taking her place in the Hornet.

Once you have the soul you need, go back to Songclave and talk to your caretaker again. He goes up to the cradle to set up a trap.

6. Talk to the cradle caretaker.

Return to the cradle and go up near the top. This actually includes a slightly tricky platform. In this case, you will need to use clawline to move through the spiked platform and ascend it up.

Near the summit there is a caretaker. Speaking to him again, he will tell you that a trap is on you, and play your Needlin to activate it in the right moment. Don’t worry, the moment is clear as crystals. Once the final boss is defeated and selects an ending, you will be asked to bind or use it (needlene will unlock Act 3.

Now we pass the caretaker and head towards the top platform. Standing in the center, the prompt appears to challenge the pale monarch who has spun the web all this time on the top of Falroom. This will prepare you for the final boss battle in Act 2.

7. Defeat Grand Mother Silk.

The monarch’s name is Grand Mother Silk, and she is an eye-opening sight. The magnificent mother attacks mostly with long needles, slices the arena both vertically and horizontally (and both at once). She can also create a web of silk across the arena where you need to stand in the space between them to avoid the nasty things 3 Damage Maskbut this is easy enough to avoid most of the time.

What might make you trip at first is her claw attack, which goes from one side of the arena to the other. It’s not exactly clear what she’s doing, what you have to do to dodge her when she does this, but all you need to do is jump – the actual claw attack is along the ground, so you can jump over it easily. Try to position yourself between them as needles will soon fall from the sky.

Grand Mother Silk has many stages and is quite healthy. In the second phase, she starts to double the web attacks throughout the arena, so there are two in a row, and she starts flying the needles quickly, both horizontally and vertically. Still, in the first few stages, she is not really that difficult, and there are plenty of opportunities to hit her repeatedly during the attack.

At the end of her second phase, she disappears for a while and the rocks begin to fall from the ceiling, which you need to avoid. As the magnificent mother comes back, she starts to increase her regular attacks with many of these falling rocks, limiting the amount of space you have to avoid.

Attacking an epic mother is never difficult – her hitbox is big and she is inevitable. Therefore, you need to maintain as much pressure as possible during her attacks. Again, SharpDart and Flintslate are a phenomenal high in the burst damage of their grand mother, and she really has no answer.

Things become quite difficult as she starts summoning sections of spikes on the ground and limits your space even further. You can make these spikes into pogo, but you need a clever touch to avoid damage at these moments. Expect to receive a lot of chip damage while you’re learning. Equipped with an injector band in a multi-binder, you’ll find amazing how to make you fight for longer.

There’s nothing more to say, but keep on doing it, and you’ll beat her – perhaps it won’t even get close to the most difficult boss fight in your game.

Now is the time for the epic mother to descend and the Hornet thrusts her needle into the creature’s face. There are two prompts at the bottom of the screen. One will bind and the other will play Needlin.

Play Needling. This encourages what is known as “snare silk” ends in Hollownight: Silkson. This is the ending where you can reload the save after the end credits and start the third act of the game.

At this moment, the caretaker’s trap pops out, and the magnificent mother is pulled downward by the chains of the black gaps. In her final moments she grabs the Hornet, and it appears that both are drawn into the deep by together – but at the last moment, the lace reappears, taking the hand of the magnificent mother who was clutching the Hornet, taking her place.

8. Load the saved file after the end credits.

After a cutscene that appears to be falling apart, the end of Silkson credits play. Congratulations! You came very far and did so – but the game isn’t over yet.

Once the end credits have passed, the game’s completion screen will appear and unlock Steel Soul Mode for the next playthrough. After that, you will return to the main menu.

From here, click (Start the game) and you’ll see that the saved file has a strange view of it. Selecting that saved file several times will break the strand and return to Falroom and start the third act of Silkson.
