Some NPCs are there to help you test, master the skills and sell useful items. Meanwhile, the gods look random to give you special items to support the battle.

Every time you start a new crawl through the dungeon in Hades 2 or move through the gate to the next gate, you can interact with a randomly assigned sigil related to one of the Greek gods. These Hades 2 benefits are themed around God who gives your attacks and defenses a choice of buffs and offers their help. But which Hades 2 Gods will have the opportunity to meet in the Roguelike game, and how does their Greek mythology relate to the story of Hades 2? Please read to find out.

All Hades 2 Gods

Greek myths, including stories and characters, have always been incredibly fluid after being passed on verbally for thousands of years. And the super-huge game took their mission in the first game to incorporate myths and expand the characters in a modern and trustworthy way.

The Greek gods that appear in Hades 2 are:

  • Milling
  • Hades
  • Aphrodite
  • Apollo
  • Ares
  • Artemis
  • Chalong
  • chaos
  • Chronos

Merinoe, the player character and one of the gods of Hades 2, speaks to Dora and says

Milling

Merinoe is Zagreus’ brother, Hades’ daughter in Hades 2, the main character of the game, and although her history in the ancient world is a bit muddy, one Orphic hymn from about 2,000 years ago tells us a little about her. One side was black and the other was white, she was in charge of the settlement offered to the ghost of the dead.

The Goddess’ double black and white limbs seem to be intended to represent her division between the above-mentioned underworld and the heavenly world. What we really know about Merino is that she is said to be Persephone and Hades’ daughter (sometimes called Zeus’ variations), and she was deeply involved in the ghost of the dead. Also, although Merino believes to be Hecate’s isolated title, she appears as another Hades 2 god.

All the gods of Hades 2 explained - Chronos, Merinoe, Apollo, etc.: Buffman with long white hair on each side, in front of a bright, blurry background

Hades

Hades is the name of the underworld itself, but we also know that Hades is the god of the underworld and perhaps the father of Merino. All the relationships in Greek mythology are very complicated, but Hades is probably the most complicated, with relations between the other Hades 2 gods and most of the characters.

Spoiler alert: Hades is not actually the father of Merino in Greek mythology, if you didn’t know yet. Instead, Zeus was known in many myths to take the form of Hades to trick Merino’s mother Persephone. Although Melinoe does not seem to recognize this, we still can’t know if this will appear in Hades 2 or if Hades himself can fulfill it.

Hades 2 Boss: A refined evil man with black wings, has a golden staff.

Chronos

Cronos is the villain of the gods of Hades 2, imprisoned in the chains at the edge of the trailer, acting as the driving force behind the story, known as “time itself.”

Cronus, the god of the age and king of Titan, feared the prophecy that, except for Zeus, he would overthrow his son. Zeus later saved his brother, imprisoned Cronos, and later freed him, making him the ruler of the Elysian Islands (actually the inspiration for the third floor of the original Hades).

Later, both Zeus and Hades, Poseidon, Hera and Hestia’s father are probably a little mad at how he was imprisoned. The situation in Hades 2 Gods may be different, but Hades’s own incarceration is a form of revenge, and it is dangerous to speculate that Chronos’ relationship to time could potentially be played back by the repeated Roguelike elements of Hades 2 runs – perhaps time travel? This is not yet known, as Chronos does not appear in technical testing.

Aphrodite, one of Hades 2 gods, says she stands naked with long pink hair covering her body.

Aphrodite

The myth of Aphrodite is perhaps one of the most famous. As the goddess of love and fertility, Aphrodite is known to have been born from the suggestive material born from the severed genitals of Uranus. It was suggested that Aphrodite would also become known as the goddess of the sea, as the genital organs were thrown into the sea by Cronus, the son of Uranus. Aphrodite appears as a beautiful naked woman with pink skin and sweet pink hair covering her body, so a more famous expression as a goddess of love is used in Hades 2.

Aphrodite was also known to have been engaged to Hefaestus. Hephaestus also appears in Hades 2. Given the discordant partnership, it appears that Aphrodite had a relationship with Ares, the god of war. Given Aphrodite’s relationship with Cronos and Hefastus, it probably unfolds much of her story with the other two Hades two characters. Ares was in Hades, but it is still unclear whether the God of War will appear in Hades 2.

Apollo, a beautiful black man with blonde hair and golden armor, and one of the gods of Hades 2,

Apollo

In Hades 2, Apollo is the god of light, but from mythology he is actually a god of many things (so many did). Gods who have appeared many times in ancient Greek culture are often portrayed in language, trembling, bows, and ravens. The Super Giants appear to combine bows and lyr for their interpretation, as Apollo was shot in-game with bows in many strings, mimicking the appearance of lyre.

Artemis, the green-haired goddess of hunting, and Artemis, one of the gods of Hades 2, wears brown fur and has feathered sticks on her shoulders.

Artemis

Artemis is also known as the Greek mythological goddess of chastity and birth, but Supermassive was more suited to use her more widely known status as the goddess of Hunt for Hades 2.

See also  Nvidia claims more than 80% of GeForce RTX gaming GPU owners have DLSS enabled

Greek mythology also places Artemis as Apollo’s twin sister, but mostly in the lore that she is the goddess she gave birth to, proceeding to help her mother Leto give birth to Apollo. We still don’t see if this relationship unfolds in Hades 2, but considering its focus on Artemis as a Huntress, we wouldn’t think so.

Although we don’t confirm that the characters in Hades 2 are particularly close to Artemis, since her father is Zeus, they link to most other characters through her father’s line. Interestingly, as you can see in the screenshot above, Artemis immediately calls Merino a “sister,” but of course it’s a mystery whether this means anything or not. As Zeus’ daughter, she, of course, but as far as we know, Merinoe does not believe Zeus is her father.

Chalon is one of the gods of Hades 2, a shadow beneath the long, flowing robe.

Chalong

Chalong is a sailor of Steigian, or in other words a ferryman sailing the dead into the underworld. According to Greek mythology, the intersection required payments, and those who were unable to pay were not given a corridor, but instead were left to wander the coast forever. Therefore, the Greeks often placed coins in the mouth of the deceased to ensure payment upon arrival.

This payment theme is very related to Chalon’s character in Hades 2, as he is a merchant of goods. In Hades 2, items such as Boons can be purchased from Caron in exchange for Gold, which is different from Obols’ payments from the first game.

Hades 2 Gods: Chaos Stands, hugging their heads, with giant bat-like wings

chaos

Chaos, a non-binary character confirmed in the Hades series, has shifted his appearance from the original game to Hades 2. Currently, he has pink and purple undercuts, long gray hair and a flowing robe. Despite the shift in appearance, they still exist to serve the same purpose – mixing Merinoe’s journey and offering a powerful bounty that puts all normality aside.

Chaos comes from the “unsold aeons” when they blow the night and darkness, and it is said that all living creatures come down from them.

Demeter, a beautiful older and beautiful older with white hair and elegant armor, says one of Hades 2 bosses

Demeter

Demeter is known as the Goddess of Harvest or Goddess of the Seasons, and is called the latter of Hades 2. It seems that, given the name and effect of Demeter’s bounty, the theme intertwined with Hades 2 is about winter and its effects on crops.

As one of Hades and Zeus’s brothers, Demeter is both Persephone’s mother and Merino’s grandmother, so things are a bit confusing. Her connection to the paternal side of Merino’s heritage is a complicated part as Zeus was known and the relationship between success is known. As you can read below, this is important, as Hades is not Merino’s father. Like all the children of Cronos, Demeter should be particularly interested in his end.

Hades 2 God: Ellis is the brightly colored personification of conflict

Ellis

Ellis is an anthropomorphism of conflict. She resists all forms of order, whether implied through nature or enforced by God and Goddess. Nevertheless, Melinhe finds herself repeatedly attracted to Ellis throughout Hades 2.

Ellis is also the final boss of the ascent to Olympus and has a considerable fight. She previously wore a de-abryph, a weapon found in the original Hades game and an adamant rail that resembles an eagle-shaped gun.

Hecate is one of Hades 2 Gods, and is Raven's hair beauty with a big rimmed hat and a top top that flaunts his tone abs.

hecate

If you consider Hecate from Merino as another entity, she is the goddess of magic, spells, moon and night, just as the Super Giant appears in Hades 2 as a woman dressed in an all-black robe. In Hades 2, Hecate supports Merino in her quest for Chronos and trains her in ways of magic and combat.

According to many modern plays such as Yuripides and Aristofan, the shrine to Hecate will be placed at the entrance to the house, warding away magic and evil. Also, Hecate may see a connection with the other gods from the first Hades, as Demeter helped Demeter search for his daughter Persephone in mythology.

Homeric’s hymn to Demeter also states that Hecate acted as a companion of Persepon when he traveled to the Underworld and spent a third of his annual trips with Hades (Greek mythology is a bit confusing, so don’t worry).

Hades 2 Gods: Hera has green feathered clothes and bright gray hair

Spatula

Hera is the Queen of Olympus, Zeus’ wife, and is tasked with confirming that there is some sort of order there. You can meet her on Tartarus and on your journey to the surface, and she will give you a powerful bounty.

As the goddess of marriage and daughter of Titan Hyperion and Thea, her sisters are Hestia, Demeter, Helios, Serene and EOS. Whether they share the same parent-child relationship is a different matter. Have you learned at this point in the guide to not question Greek mythology or family connections? Perhaps it should.

Hades 2 Gods: Hercules is a big man with impressive long hair and a beard, covering his head with bear skin

Hercules

Hercules appears as an NPC in various encounters similar to Artemis and Nemesis. He sets up challenges, such as defeating more enemies than the window of time, in order to earn greater rewards. You can give him a nectar to receive his memento, but in relation to you you can only reach up to three hearts. The third time comes only when you progress through the story of the game.

Hercules is a “man monster” and appears to wear bear skin over his impressive mane and whiskers. He opposes magic and poses danger to those he meets as well as himself. You just have to face him on your journey to the surface.

One of the gods of Hefaestus, Hades 2, in a wheelchair, is

Hephaestus

Hefaestus, the god of Forge, is well known for his craft and metalwork, so he is properly associated with such things in Hades 2, and he supports Merino’s defense and weapons.

As Aphrodite’s unlucky husband, there may be some kind of interaction between the two characters in Hades 2, but considering Aphrodite chose Ares and Philander, you wouldn’t think it was friendly. According to mythology, the born glitter can be seen depicting Hephaestus on a chair with wheels, but he also appears to have a metal prosthetic leg that appears to have been given his talent.

Hades 2 God: Hestia is the goddess of fire

number one

Hestia, the goddess of flame, offers Merino a natural fire-themed bounty. She appears to have a great personality that not only refers to Merino as “hot things,” but also mentions her dialogue as having other fire-related puns. The goddess calls herself an “elderly”, suggesting that she is one of two elder gods. This follows along with her myth, as she is once again one of Hades’s brothers and made her an aunt of Merino.

The name Hestia refers directly to the hearth, and the most common interpretation of the goddess is the affinity for the house’s furnace, and therefore warmth and family. This is probably another reason why she speaks so casually and cheerfully to Merino, a part of her own family.

Hestia is another of Cronos’ five children, alongside Zeus, Hades, Hera and Poseidon, so I am sure that another of Hades’ two gods will also be particularly useful in bringing his father, the main Hades 2 villain to trial.

Hades, one of two letters, and one of the expressions of sleep, Hypnosis sleeps in a red robe.

Hypnosis

Now hypnosis is the god we can relate to. Hypnosis, also known as the sleep incarnation, has been discovered so far, and naturally sleeps rapidly in Hades 2. This continues at the end of the first game (another spoiler alert!) in which hypnosis falls into deep sleep. His role in Hades was to greet Zagreus after his death. This was a role filled by Lord Moros in Hades 2. According to Greek mythology, hypnosis is the twin brother of the God of Death and I think he will die in Hades 2.

In the Iliad, hypnosis had a bad history with Zeus, and at the request of Zeus’ wife Hera, he fell asleep multiple times, and was used as a victim of the trickery. Naturally, Zeus was probably not the biggest fan of hypnosis, as he was furious when he woke up. Anyway, we don’t know how Hypnos’ story unfolds in Hades 2, as we can’t awaken him so far, but we’re sure there must be a reason to exist at his crossroads.

Hades 2 with white hair and horns, grey skin of Lord Moros, standing tall and strong, says,

Moros Lord

The Greek god Moros, or “Doom Incanate,” appears in Merinoe after several deaths related to the myth of destiny, the end of the misery, and his immortality. Moros is also the son of Knicks, the adopted mother of former Hades Zagreus, so it’s not so surprising that Moros tries to help Melinoe. Ares helped to give Doom Effect in the first game, but it’s unclear whether Moros is still tied to it. So far, Moros knows he has connections to spells and can be summoned using invitations in the cauldron.

Nemesis, a beautiful Amazon woman in silver armor, and one of the gods of Hades 2,

Nemesis

Nemesis is sure to have already given Dimitrescu fan artist lady a run for money.

Although sometimes contested, she is widely believed to be a NYX child, and could even better tie her archenemy with the first Hades. One of the most famous mythical nemesis is that of Narciss, a terrible handsome hunter to one of his worshipers. So Nemesis invites him to the pool where he fell in love with his reflexes, and eventually dies as he can’t look away (feeling).

With multiple connections between the gods of Hades 2 and the Nycks from the goddess, the old spouses of the gods in the first game will play some role in the sequel, even if they do not appear directly.

Poseidon, a handsome older man with a devilish smile and long green hair, is one of the gods of Hades 2.

Poseidon

Poseidon, the god of the sea, is Zeus’s last brother, who knows to be in Hades 2, along with Hades, Demeter and Hestia. Poseidon is believed to have become the god of the sea when he and his brothers overturned his father, Cronas himself, and the Sea, Sky and Underworld split between Cronas’ three sons, Poseidon, Zeus and Hades. Naturally, given his turbulent past, Poseidon, like his brother, wants to help him defeat Cronos again.

In his introduction to Hades 2, Poseidon mentions the disappearance of Zagreus, Persephone and Hades. This is all missing at the start of the second game. He is Merinoe’s uncle and is sometimes called the “Earth Shaker” due to his raucous nature.

Selene is a beautiful woman dressed in white and silver on a white horse, the goddess of the moon, and one of Hades two letters.

Serene

The moon goddess, Serene is a beautiful woman who appears in Merino on a stunning white winged horse with a silver mane. This was true to her Greek mythology, and Serene traveled either side of her horse, like Hades 2, pulled by two horses, or the tank itself pulled behind it.

So far, Serene has been surprisingly lonely in Hades 2, but in-game guides have called her “raised by the Knicks himself.” She is associated with Helios and Eos, and neither of them appears in Hades 2. Selene said it had something to do with her beloved, the human endomion, the other gods who gave her the gift of eternal youth and life, especially Zeus.

The classic Zeus interpretation with golden armor and long white hair and whiskers is one of the gods of Hades 2.

Zeus

Zeus is undoubtedly the string that unites all the gods of Hades 2. According to Greek mythology, many fathers, some brothers, and all brothers, and all kings, Zeus, technically the true father of Merino. It remains to be seen whether this will be revealed to Merino, who believes to be her father.

All of this is true to myths, as Zeus tricked Merino’s mother, Persephone, to disguise himself. But through many mothers, Zeus is also the father of Hephaestus, Artemis, Apollo, and Persephone himself – do not ask, it is a Greek myth – and many other gods and goddesses who do not appear in Hades or Hades 2.

Two other Hades characters

Other Had2 NPCs appearing in different spheres include:

  • Arachne
  • Cerberus
  • Dora
  • Odysseus
  • Polyphemus
  • Schelemeus
  • Scylla
  • Icarus
  • Frinos
  • Hecuba and Gail

Arachne, a little spider on the girl's head and face, is one of Hades two letters.

Arachne

Arachne is perhaps one of the most adorable Hades two letters, depicted as a small spider with a beautiful female head, with blonde curls above her head. This form represents the fate of Arachne in Greek mythology, as the fatal witch became a spider after his run with Athena.

See also  Haikyuu Fly High Tier List - Best Characters to Reroll

Gifted to the fabric, Arachne was a deadly number of people believed to have a magical affinity as an explanation for her talent. But she wasn’t, and her knowledge of how wonderful her weaving abilities were on her head. According to her lore, Arachne became cheeky and she insisted that her skills were superior to the gods,” especially her tutor Athena, and Athena, challenged an artistic duel. However, this was not within the scope of her hubrifying, but Athena transformed her into a spider as her weaving portrayed the infidelity and misconduct of the gods.

Hades 2 Boss: Overhead view of a giant dog-like monster with three heads.

Cerberus

Cerberus appears in a state that changed when you first encounter him. Merinoe suspects this is what Chronos does, and we tend to agree. He appears as “Infern Kerberus,” but once you defeat him you see him take his original form.

A ghostly illusion like turquoise, Dora is one of the characters in Hades 2.

Dora

Dora, or Wrist Shade, appears in Hades 2 in two forms. One is an adorable mint green ghost girl with long turquoise hair, and the other is a seemingly evil shade, featuring a face that shines under the cloak.

Although Dora is widely believed to be based on Pandora and has no connection to her ghostly form, Pandora was responsible for opening Pandora’s box and releasing all the evils of humanity into the world. Again, Dora appears far from Hades 2’s evil, but clearly has an affinity that scares people in her dark form. She doesn’t act this way around Merino, and the pair look like good friends. However, her interaction with Merino is often cheeky and a bit confusing, so perhaps the superfumi decided to interpret her evil in this way.

A typical handsome man, Odysseus, Hades two letters, one of the two characters,

Odysseus

Odysseus is the king of Greece and appears along with many kings, queens, gods and goddesses of Hades 2 of the Iliad, but is mostly known as the hero named after the Odyssey. As a human, his interaction with God is rather indirect, but he is portrayed as having a good relationship with Zeus and Athena, who save lives by discouraging him from killing his vengeful enemies. In contrast, in a conversation with Merino in Hades 2, Odysseus reveals that Poseidon is not such a fan.

Odysseus makes his series debut in Hades 2, appearing at the intersection as a veteran tactician.

One of Hades 2 NPCs, Schelemeus is a wide-eyed character who helps with training.

Schelemeus

Schelemeus, formerly known as Skelly, is the battle trainer in Hades 2 and appears at the intersection. Little is known about the backstory of Schelemeus, and I’d love to find out more in Hades 2, especially considering Odysseus’s appearance in the sequel.

Odysseus did not appear in the first game. There was also a long-standing fan theory that Skelly was actually an Odysseus. Some believe this is now disproveable, but the pair has a similar stance and armor, both wearing gold bands around their heads along with matching black rocks. You will probably learn more about who Schelemeus is and his relationship with Odysseus in Hades 2.

Hades 2 Boss: Giant Cyclops, picking teeth neatly.

Polyphemus

Polyphemus is a visionless cyclops you encounter while traveling to the surface. He lives with the sheep gag. He sometimes consumes it by mistake.

Devouring people for the rest of his life, he chose to become a shepherd because his lifestyle was too tired. After leaving the city of Ephila, when you face him as a boss, he will be happy to take a nap when you drop him off.

Hades 2 Scylla Boss: A giant tentacle monster with a microphone.

Scylla

After being cursed by a witch and destined to have long tendrils with aqua blue hair and terrifying pale complexions, Saira sits at the bottom of the ocean, waiting for the player as the final boss of the Oceanu area during the descent. Naturally, she strongly dislikes witches.

She roams the sea with Deep’s other two daughters who can’t sing half-sung. If you’re struggling to get past this tricky vocalist, check out the Scylla and Sirens Boss Fight Guide.

One of the characters in Hades 2, Frinos is a small, big-eyed frog.

Frinos

Frinos is the only character on this list without mythical counterparts, and the word “Frino” simply means “toad” in Greek. This adorable little companion waits for Merino every time he fails at work and returns to Mel’s room. Here you can interact with small creatures, share your thoughts, or simply tweak them.

Hades 2 God: Icarus is a free spirit

Icarus

Icarus is Hades 2’s free spirit. Meet him on a journey to the surface. This surprising look, voiced by Asa Butterfield (Sex Education, Ender’s Game) gives you a powerful boon to keep your run. We are sure we are revealing more about Icarus and his appearance in the game.

Icarus is a Greek mythology that is famous for dying by flying near the sun with its waxed wings. He is also the son of Daedalus, and those familiar with Hades have heard of the Daedalus Hammer, the powerful bounty offered by encounters.

Hecuba and Gail

In Greek mythology, Hecuba is the Queen of Troy. In many of her stories, Hecuba contacted many of the Greek gods and kings, including Apollo, Zeus, and Odysseus, and even had the son of Apollo Toilus, who was later killed by Achilles.

Hecuba appears to be an interaction between Hecuba and Odysseus, referenced in Hades 2, just as Melinoe appears as a Doberman who can interact at intersections. In this story, Hecuba is filmed as a slave by Odysseus, and she reacts by barking and groaning the king. As a result, the gods turn her into a dog, allowing her to escape – the form we found her in Hades 2.

Next to Hecuba you can also find Gale, a small brown polesatt. In mythology, Gale also starts out as a human, and has a particularly problematic history with Hecate. Thanks to the witch’s extraordinary desires, Hecate transformed her into a Paul Cat.

Now you know the characters in Hades 2 that look to you as you pass through Hades itself, but we cannot help which gods appear. If so, you might be interested in finding out more about Hades 2 Arcana cards, how to defeat Hades 2 bosses, and the best Hades 2 builds.
