Have you noticed you’re inside the Silkson exhaust? Even by Silksong standards, “exhaust organs” are rather strange names for regions of the world. But it’s very appropriate and in one or more ways. The area is small, but difficult and densely packed and houses some secrets that were easily missed to boot.
In this quick part 16 of the Silksong walkthrough, you’ll walk the perfect route of the exhaust and its superheated steamy tunnel. We also recommend the best tips and tricks on how to defeat the main boss at the top of the exhaust organ.

Exhaust appliance walkthrough steps:
- Find a bench covered in Cobweb.
- Passes through the steam holes.
- Rescue the trapped fleas.
- Kill Phantom to unlock the cross stitch.
- Activate the Grand Bellway.
Where is the exhaust device map?
1. Find a bench covered in Cobweb.
Once you leave the fog, you will find yourself on a wooden platform near the ocean where even more worms have been seeped into it. Head to the right and enter the building at the edge of the road and properly explore the exhaust organ exploration.

Once inside, you’ll pass the drapefly enemies and then through a short corridor until the room opens. Climb onto the shelf on the left and shrink the wall to the top. Here you will find a bench covered in spiderwebs. Attack the spider webs to remove them and let them rest on the bench.
2. Drop the elevator onto the shaft.
Return from the bench and jump to the right. Bypass the first method upwards, take the second method and pass another drape ply. The tunnel is regularly overflowing with steam, so there is time to rise.
There is a hole on the right side with a hole that can be placed in the duck to avoid a second jet of steam. Beware of the spikes above you when you jump from this little corner!

Continue the next tunnel and then go down the third (see the spikes at the bottom). Once you reach the intersection, drop a very small distance and follow the path on the left below. At the end of the pass is an old elevator that holds up on a wooden board. Attack the planks to break them, crashing the elevator.

3. Rescue the trapped fleas.
With the elevator out of the way, jump over to the other side and you will find a room with a mirror. For a slightly more interesting lore, you can play Needlin here.

You then turn around and continue all the way to the top of the elevator shaft, head left, straight down the wall, discovering a secret passage.

At the end of the pass is a doorway. Go through it and you’ll come back over the place you used to be. Following the platform on the left, we find a flea at the end, trapped in a few grapes. Break the grapes to free the poor, then go back to the way you came.
4. Defeat the Phantom and unlock the Cross Stitch.
From the entrance to the secret passage, head right. There is a tunnel filled with more spiked steam and you will be navigated. At the top is silk on the right side that you can collect if needed. Next, cross and head left to the arena. Here you will meet the Phantom, the main enemy of the exhaust organ.

The Phantom behaves like a race – she is a small, extremely fast swordsman (or pin master) who attacks with light foam, and can deflect and fight back to eliminate your health very quickly. She’s not a pushover. Thankfully, she only gets one damage at a time – unless you do a blow to her counterattack.

Of course, you can cut down on the health of the Phantom, but you can spend the first time “failed” attempts to understand her move set and what to expect. This is especially true in the second phase of Phantom. Inside It reminds me of her next attack, and a large band of steam that you have to pay extra attention to in order to avoid.
The best time to heal is when she flies into the air to throw a weapon diagonally at you. Simply dodge the pin and heals her as soon as she recovers.

I personally had more problems with the last judge than I did with the Phantom, but she’s still hard to crack. Still, if you spend time with her move set, you will understand her well enough to defeat her.

When you do so, the Hornet unlocks her next skill – it’s exceptional. Cross Stitch allows you to push the RB to deflect the attack when the attack lands, and you can fight back with powerful gusts of wind, like in races and Phantom. Now you know why we went through the exhaust organs before the Bilewater!
We recommend that you quickly equip cross stitching and incorporate it into a standard attack pattern, and learn to switch to one other person when the need arises.
5. Activate the Grand Bellway.
Phantom is defeated, heads left and enters the elevator. From there, as you head down the path you will arrive and climb a rocky shaft filled with long spikes.

Eventually you can reach the top and tap the lever on the left to open the passage to the next room. So, before opening the lever, you cross the trap door. On the left side, you can plunder your body for a memory rocket. Then go back and activate the lever and drop down onto the Grand Bellway.
Here are a few things to unlock. On the right side, you can insert 70 rosaries to unlock the huge map of the choir room. This is technically the current region. On the left side you can activate the first Ventrica. This is a new system that moves quickly through the Citadel area. Take them only to one other closed location, now called The Terminus. But you can unlock more rooms about the world and travel between them faster like Bellway.

Speaking of which, you can just cross the bench a little to the left and unlock the Bellway for a 120 rosary and see the old fellow Belbeast again. If you have a rosary, you will need to unlock all three immediately, but if you need to prioritize, choose this order.
- Bellway
- Choir room map
- confidant
Bellway prioritization means you can easily return to a good rosary farming area like Greymore and Moss Home to gather enough rosary beads to unlock others.
For now, the final step is to go left past Bellway. This is the point where the ACT 2 opening cutscene will play if you have already not triggered defeating the last judge in the blown up step. Here’s an extra step for you. After the cutscene is over, a few more steps forward will arrive and the familiar face arrives: lace.

The race taunts you a bit, and the Hornet offers some incredible lines accordingly. However, there will be no rematch. At least, it’s not yet. Instead, the race will leave and some new enemies will appear to attack you. After sending them, it’s probably best to go back to Grand Bellway for now. Proper exploring the choir room can be awaited.
Race can also offer this same speech elsewhere…
