Top comics to buy on September 10th will feature superheroes, from Batman to Superman, Wolverine, comics owned by Classic Creator, to the revival of Power. It’s just a week for Superbook, and I think I’m talking to manga that’s getting stronger this year than I’ve seen recently. And if a lot of good superhero books aren’t enough, we also have transformers. It’s a fun week to indulge in your childhood favorites.
Also! If you like my comic recommendations, next week I’m launching Kickstarter for my own horror comics. You can visit this page to receive live notifications. Thank you…and enjoy our regular release list and recommendations!
Top Comics to Buy September 10th, 2025
Batman: Dark Pattern #10 Writer: Dan Wattersartist: Hayden Shermancolorist: Triona Farrellletterer: Frank Cvetkovicpublisher: DC Comicsa Mystical Arsonist has secretly led Gotham and Batman’s growth from the Shadows. Will this epic work be a success, or will the world’s biggest detective blow away a fiery plot before it’s too late? Why it’s cool: What’s exciting for me about this manga is how each problem still feels like the best problem in the book. Batman – The Dark Pattern ended on a daily basis with notes that made me think I couldn’t surpass this. And they do. And this 10th problem is no exception. Price: $4.99
Powers 25 #1 Writer: Brian Michael Bendy Celtist: Michael Avon O-Emming Colourist: Nick Philadelter: Joshua Reed Publisher: Dark Horse Comics – See Jinx Walda’s fun, dangerous adult world, see the world of heroes through the eyes of special murder officers, and win her brand partner. Under the careful eyes of legendary captains Deena Pilgrim and Enki Sunrise, the new detective runs through the minefield of all new dangers. In the new Unsolved Power Murder Case, Kutter and Moon question everything about the world and the places within it. When I first came out, I read an original run from my childhood. I have a big overview of a new dark hose on a shelf on my desk as I am writing this now. I love this book – and this new return issue exceeded my high expectations. It is just such a great jump, the natural next evolution of power as a story. Highly recommended for both old fans and new readers. Price: $4.99
Superman: Cryptonite Spectrum #2 Writer: W. Maxwell Principist: Martin Morazo Colourist: Chris O’Halolan Letter: Good Old New Neon Publisher: DC Comics – After races like the era of the Black Label’s colorful cruise last issue (or what?) watch, Superman (with the help of Batman!) is left to deal with the considerable effects of cobalt cryptonite. Watch with awe as the man of steel grows, grows, grows a little more, brings us the Kal el Kaiju comic of our collective dreams! What happened to the fortress? Why is Supes-Zilla so mad? And what is chemotherapy doing here? Why it’s cool: This second issue expands the fantastic story that started with the first chapter into something that touches even more corners of the DCU, and that’s great. I was a fan of this creative team’s breakout book, Ice Cream Man. Over the years, it’s a real treat to see how well their fine, fragrant collaboration and sensibility translates into DC Black label titles. This is a must-see. Price: $5.99
Transformers #24Writer: Daniel Warren JohnsonArtist: Jorge CoronaCoroist: Mike Spicer Letter: rus wootonpublisher: image comics – Skybound That’s it. And the new era of transformers begins with the most shocking ending of this year’s comic book! Why it’s cool: Given that 1/3 of the book’s back has been edited and not previewed in the press, it’s a leap of faith adding this to the top comics to buy on September 10th. Combine it with a solicitation copy (see above) that promises “the most shocking ending for this year’s comic book.” And I think we’ve been receiving a pretty consequential event with this issue. And hell, the first 2/3 of this book was great, this run.price: $3.99
Ultimate Wolverine #9 Writer: Christopher Condonartist: Alessandro Cappucciocolorist: Bryan Valenzaletterer: Cory Petitpublisher: Marvel Comics Wolverine has reunited with the opposition parties. However, the opposition is not prepared for the fear that awaits them when attacking factories secretly producing powerful android soldiers… Why cool: Regular readers of this space know that I love the ultimate Wolverine. And this problem is no exception. Furthermore, we see where the cyclops of this world is, and humans are terrible. Don’t miss it! Price: $4.99
