kIrby and the Forgotten Land It was one of the most fun games on the Nintendo Switch. It’s a fantastic 3D platformer that has moved Nintendo’s pink puffball into 3D and has not lost sight of the special source that made the game appealing from the start, moving to the third dimension. Kirby and the Forgotten Land It’s a revelation, the best 3D platformer in a genre packed with content, high-end production values, bringing Kirby all inclusively into 3D.
While Nintendo and Hal are waiting for them to offer the next 3D flagship entry for the franchise, they revisited this Switch Classic and updated it for the Nintendo Switch 2. Let’s talk about those updates first. Switch 2 has excellent enhanced backward compatibility to play most Switch 1 games out of the box. However, if the work to update a Switch 2 game is extensive and/or comes with new features and content, Nintendo will typically package the update as a paid upgrade under the Switch 2 Edition moniker. The update here is great. The original game pushed the boundaries of what you can do with Switch hardware, even in early 2022. The original game has a very aggressive dynamic resolution scaling, running between 810p and 1080p in docking mode and frequently dropping under 720p in handheld mode. It’s all gone, and Forgotten land Switch 2 runs on a very clear 1440p image, looking clear and clear, bringing justice to the lovely art style of the game.
More importantly, the original game ran at 30fps. It was locked at 30fps, but for platformers, frame rate is important and important; Forgotten land It was 30fps, but I clearly felt that it would improve even better at 60fps. And behold, it is. The Switch 2 version of the theme runs at a locked 60fps. Equally important (at least for some players I know), the distracting decimated framerate effects are also minimized. This is because it’s part of an upgrade package that I’m not very sure about. Upgrading the base game with content as a bonus makes it a reasonably appealing proposition. On the other hand, if you only want new content, that calculation will change.

But of course, some people will want to get it just for new content, and some people will want to get the entire package for the first time now. These scenarios are scenarios in which, in either scenario, are otherwise subject to attention to simple recommendations.
